Our team is part of EY’s Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe & Central Asia (CESA) cluster, delivering market leading services to organizations across industries in Cyprus and internationally.\nThe transformation imperative is urgent, challenging and opportunity-rich, interested to join us?\nYour Key Responsibilities\nSoftware Development\nDesign, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade cloud-native applications using Java and Spring Boot.\n\nBuild scalable microservices and APIs following cloud-native architecture principles.\n\nImplement high-quality, maintainable, and secure code using modern engineering practices.\n\nParticipate in application modernization initiatives, including migration and refactoring efforts.\n\nAI-Native Engineering\nUtilize GitHub Copilot, AI coding assistants, and agentic development tools to improve productivity and software quality.\n\nWork effectively with AI-generated code, reviewing, validating, and refining outputs to ensure production readiness.\n\nLeverage AI-assisted testing, debugging, documentation, and code review capabilities.\n\nContribute to the development of reusable prompts, engineering standards, and AI-enabled delivery practices.\n\nArchitecture & Integration\nDesign and implement RESTful APIs, event-driven integrations, and distributed system components.\n\nWork with messaging and streaming platforms such as Kafka or equivalent technologies.\n\nApply design patterns and architectural best practices to create resilient and scalable solutions.\n\nCollaborate with architects and technical leads to deliver solution designs aligned with business requirements.\n\nQuality Engineering\nDevelop automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.\n\nPerform code reviews, focusing on quality, security, performance, and maintainability.\n\nImplement observability, monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting capabilities.\n\nEnsure applications meet security, compliance, and operational requirements.\n\nCloud & DevOps\nBuild and deploy applications using CI/CD pipelines.\n\nWork within Azure or other public cloud environments.\n\nUtilize containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.\n\nTo qualify for the role, you should have\nEducation & Work Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology/Systems or other related field\n\nBetween 3 to 6 years related work experience\n\nExperience implementation software following agile methodologies\n\nTechnical Skills\nService Oriented environments and Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring, Spring MVC,)\n\nImplementing cloud-native microservices\n\nSource code management, continuous integration and automated deployment\n\nKnowledge of securing applications, including authentication, authorization, and encryption.\n\nVery good knowledge of SQL and DBMS\n\nKnowledge of clean code and unit testing\n\nStrong communication skills\n\nExcellent English language verbal and written communication\n\nAI Engineering Skills\nHands-on experience using AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot or equivalent platforms.\n\nAbility to critically evaluate AI-generated code and identify functional, architectural, security, and performance issues.\n\nUnderstanding of prompt engineering and AI-native development workflows.\n\nExperience incorporating agentic AI into engineering practices and team delivery processes.\n\nIdeally you should also have\nCertificates proving certain skills such as Java, Spring Boot, SQL or related skills\n\nCertificates related to agentic software delivery.\n\nKnowledge of Docker and Kubernetes\n\nExperience working with AWS or Azure cloud platforms\n\nExperience with events-driven architectures using Kafka or similar technologies\n\nExperience using Spring Cloud Config Server or other similar platforms\n\nSkills and attributes for success\nExperience working in international projects\n\nAbility to lead and coach other developers\n\nAbility to work in a dynamic environment and have excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills\n\nSelf-driven and flexible, can work autonomously with a proven work ethic\n\nEffectively leverages AI to improve engineering productivity without compromising standards.\n\nDemonstrates strong architectural thinking and technical leadership.\n\nContributes to reusable engineering assets, standards, and AI-native development practices.\n\nActs as a multiplier for team productivity through automation and knowledge sharing.\n\nTeam player who enjoys working with people from different backgrounds and disciplines\n\nAble to exhibit a high level of confidentiality\n\nWhat we offer you\nAt EY, we’ll develop you with future-focused skills and equip you with world-class experiences.
