The experience a customer sees at the storefront depends on decisions spanning product, content, customer data, pricing, promotions, payments, order management, fulfillment, marketing technology, cloud architecture and enterprise integration.\nEY Studio+ seeks a Commerce Technical Architect at the Manager level who can bring those pieces together.\nIn this role, the successful candidate will operate as a senior client-facing technical architect, helping organizations define, design and deliver modern commerce solutions. The candidate will lead conversations with business and technology stakeholders, translate complex technical concepts into clear business implications, and turn ambiguous requirements into scalable, secure and achievable solution architectures.\nThis role is not focused on a single product or platform. The successful candidate will have deep expertise in at least one leading commerce platform and the architectural breadth to work across multiple ecosystems, including Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Adobe Commerce, Shopify, commercetools and other enterprise or composable commerce technologies.\nThe successful candidate will contribute across the full engagement lifecycle, from discovery and pursuit solutioning through architecture, delivery governance and launch.\nYour Key responsibilities\nLead end-to-end architecture and solution design for enterprise commerce transformations across leading commerce platforms and composable ecosystems.\nServe as the primary bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, translating strategic objectives into scalable technology solutions.\nLead client workshops, architecture reviews and solutioning activities across pursuits, delivery programs and digital transformation initiatives.\nGuide platform selection, integration strategy, architecture governance, and technical decision-making across complex commerce ecosystems.\nSupport proposals, pursuits, RFP responses and executive presentations by articulating solution vision, implementation approach and business value.\nPartner with multidisciplinary teams spanning experience, strategy, product, data, AI and engineering to deliver integrated solutions.\nProvide technical leadership, architectural oversight and risk management throughout the delivery lifecycle.\nMentor technical teams and contribute to the growth of the EY Studio+ Commerce architecture practice.\nSkills and attributes for success\nStrong client presence with the ability to engage both executive stakeholders and technical teams.\nDemonstrated ability to translate complex technology concepts into clear business outcomes and recommendations.\nStrong structured problem-solving skills and confidence navigating ambiguity and competing priorities.\nAbility to evaluate technical tradeoffs and make practical recommendations aligned to business objectives.\nStrong understanding of modern commerce capabilities, customer journeys and supporting enterprise ecosystems.\nAbility to lead multidisciplinary and geographically distributed teams through hands-on problem solving, guiding teams in addressing complex business and technical challenges.\nCommercial awareness, including experience contributing to estimates, staffing approaches, business cases and delivery plans.\nCollaborative leadership style with a passion for mentoring and team development.\nTo qualify for the role, you must have:\nA bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.\n9+ years of experience designing and delivering enterprise commerce solutions in consulting, digital agency or complex client environments.\nDemonstrated experience serving as a Technical Architect or comparable technology leadership role.\nDeep implementation experience with at least one leading commerce platform, such as:\nSalesforce Commerce Cloud (B2C or B2B)\nAdobe Commerce / Magento\nShopify / Shopify Plus\ncommercetools\nSAP Commerce Cloud\nOther enterprise commerce platforms\nExperience working across multiple commerce platforms or the demonstrated ability to quickly adapt architecture expertise across different commerce ecosystems.\nExperience designing integrations across ERP, CRM, PIM, OMS, CMS, CDP, payment, tax, search and marketing technology platforms.\nExperience with API-led, headless and composable commerce architectures.\nExperience leading client-facing workshops, solution design sessions and architecture reviews.\nExperience leading technical teams and managing cross-functional delivery workstreams.\nStrong written, verbal and presentation skills.\nWillingness to travel based on client and engagement needs.\nIdeally, you will also have:\nArchitecture or implementation certifications for Salesforce, Adobe, Shopify, commercetools, AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.\nExperience with omnichannel commerce, marketplaces, subscriptions, loyalty, internationalization or multi-brand commerce implementations.\nExperience applying AI and automation to commerce experiences and operations.\nExperience establishing architecture governance for large-scale digital transformation programs.\nExperience supporting pursuits, RFP responses, statements of work and executive presentations.\nFamiliarity with MACH principles, cloud-native architecture patterns and modern integration strategies.\nWhat success looks like for this role\nThe successful candidate should be equally comfortable leading an executive discussion on growth opportunities and customer experience and guiding engineering teams through architecture decisions, integrations and implementation tradeoffs.\nThe strongest candidates combine deep technical credibility with strong business acumen.
