The Area Manager serves as the primary operational leader for technicians and is accountable for delivering field performance in alignment with company standards and customer expectations.\nThis position reports to the Regional O&M Manager.\nKey Responsibilities:\nField Operations Execution\nOversees daily field maintenance activities across assigned sites.\nEnsures completion of preventive maintenance (PM), corrective maintenance (CM), and emergency response activities.\nMaintains 24/7 on-call readiness and emergency coverage within the region.\nVerifies work quality, documentation accuracy, and procedural compliance.\nTeam Leadership & Development\nDirectly manages and mentors a team of technicians.\nConducts performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions as required.\nEnsures technician qualification cards are current and progressing.\nIdentifies skill gaps and coordinates training plans.\nMaintains technician morale, engagement, and accountability.\nScheduling & Resource Management\nDevelops and maintains technician schedules to meet operational demands.\nEnsures appropriate site coverage and workload balancing.\nVerifies tools, PPE, and service vehicles are properly maintained and stocked.\nForecasts labor and parts needs and communicates to Regional Manager.\nSafety & Compliance\nLeads regional safety culture and compliance initiatives.\nConducts safety meetings and ensures adherence to company and regulatory standards.\nEnsures incident reporting and corrective actions are executed promptly.\nCustomer & Stakeholder Interface\nServes as primary operational point of contact for assigned customers.\nOwns communication regarding site performance, issues, and KPIs.\nSupports sales and business development activities as needed.\nPerformance Management & Reporting\nTracks and reports KPIs including PM completion rates, response times, backlog, safety metrics, and labor utilization.\nIdentifies performance trends and implements corrective action plans.\nSupports continuous improvement initiatives within the region.\nRequirements\n Basic (Required) Qualifications:\nExperience\nExperience managing leaders or supervisors in a field service, maintenance, or operations environment.\nMinimum 2 years hands-on experience as a mechanical and/or electrical technician\nEducation\nAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical discipline, or related field preferred.\nEquivalent field experience will be considered.\nSkills & Competencies\nStrong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.\nProven leadership and personnel management ability.\nAbility to manage schedules and prioritize workload under changing conditions.\nStrong problem-solving and decision-making skills.\nEffective written and verbal communication.\nWorking knowledge of maintenance management systems and reporting tools.\n Additional Requirements\nReside in assigned region (Houston).\nAbility to travel to assigned region monthly.\nClean driving record.\nAbility to work in industrial field environments, including adverse weather conditions.\nAbility to lift up to 50 pounds.\nParticipation in on-call rotation.\n Benefits:\nCompetitive Pay\nMedical, Dental, Vision, and Prescription Drug Insurance\nCompany-Paid Life Insurance\nFlexible Spending Account (FSA)\nHealth Savings Account (HSA) with a company contribution\nWellness Programs and Incentives\n401(k) Retirement Plan & Company Match\nPaid Time Off - Sick & Vacation Time\nPaid Holidays\nDo you have what it takes to join the ERock team?
