We seek those who share our commitment to customer service, innovation, and ingenuity.\n Role Overview:\nWe are looking to hire a detailed-oriented, driven, and resourceful electrical engineer to assume Design Engineering responsibilities for multiple (microgrid reliability as a service) Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of performing project and electrical engineering work - mechanical engineering experience is a plus. The position will report to the Director of Microgrid Engineering and will work a hybrid schedule based out of our headquarters in downtown Houston, TX.\nKey Responsibilities:\nProject Engineering Coordination:\nCoordinate technical aspects of the project.\nCoordinate with electric utility companies for distributed generation service request and commissioning for the assigned projects.\nCoordinate with clients, vendors, stakeholders, and other disciplines in support of project completion.\nAssist the Project team in meeting project goals including, but not limited to schedule, budget, safety, and overall quality.\nAssist / guide Designers and junior Engineers in technical aspects of their work.\nIdentify, analyze, and manage technical risk on projects under direction of the Project Manager.\nProvide engineering support, as needed, during the sales phase of the projects.\nConduct condition assessments of existing electrical systems.\nConduct site visits as necessary.\nProject Design Packages and Applications:\nPrepare, check and review detailed point-to-point project design packages for scope, completeness, constructability and quality.\nAbility to create Project Design Packages including but not limited to one-line & layout drawings, electrical schematics, bills of material, and procedures (in accordance with applicable codes) with minimal supervision.\nCreate/Review equipment and material (i.e. switchgear, transformers, wire/cables, etc.) technical specifications for procurement and ensure they meet/exceed compliance with all project requirements and applicable codes.\nPrepare Interconnect applications.\nSupervise, review, and approve the work of third-party engineers and designers.\nCreate and maintain project specific documentation prior to, during, and following completion of the projects.\nCreate as-built design drawings.\nPower System Studies:\nDemonstrate the ability to do AutoCAD drawings and Power System modeling on ETAP.\nPerform Load Flow, Short Circuit, Protection Coordination and Arc Flash studies.\nCreate relay protection setting .rdb files.\nRequirements\n Basic (Required) Qualifications:\nBachelor’s Degree in Electrical/ Power systems engineering.\n10+ years of combined experience in Electrical and Project Engineering.\nHave good theoretical background of MV & LV electrical power distribution, MV & LV Switchgear, Transformers, power generators, grounding systems, cable installation, and power systems studies.\nPhysical requirements and working conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting including performing occasional site visits and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry [files weighing up to 20 pounds]; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.\n Preferred Qualifications:\nDemonstrate a good understanding of NEC, ANSI/NEMA and IEEE standards for the above.\nHave Power, Controls, and Utility systems experience.\nHave strong computer skills and proficiency with MS Office products (Project, Outlook, Word, Excel & Power Point) & various pdf editing/mark up software.\nHave the ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects.\nHave effective written and oral communications.\nHave the ability to work in a team environment and coordinate with other areas to achieve goals and objectives.\nHave the ability to effectively manage time and complete projects on a timely basis.\nHave the ability to develop a good understanding of Company standards, practices and procedures pertaining to engineering and design.\nWork with minimum supervision, be a self-starter, be able to meet goals and deadlines on own initiative.\nBe self-motivated and able to maintain deadlines of assigned project deliverables, via reports from project management scheduling software.\nCan develop a good understanding of Company standards, practices and procedures pertaining to engineering and design.\nHave the ability to drive all technical aspects of a project from cradle-to-grave with minimal supervision.\nHave the ability to draft effectively & efficiently in AutoCAD, is highly preferred.\n Benefits:\nMedical, Dental, Vision, and Prescription Drug Insurance\nCompany-Paid Life Insurance\nDisability Insurance\nPaid Family Leave\nFlexible Spending Account (FSA)\nHealth Savings Account (HSA)\nWellness Programs and Incentives\n401(k) Retirement Plan & Company Match\nPaid Time Off - Sick & Vacation Time\nPaid Holidays\nHybrid Work Schedule!\nCool Open-Office Concept\nDo you have what it takes to join the ERock team?
