Our more than 2,000 IT experts and enthusiasts are the bank's Digital Muscle.\nWe are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with PostgreSQL and cloud database experience to support reliable, secure, and scalable database services.\nIn this role, you will work across database administration, cloud operations, and reliability engineering to help maintain PostgreSQL services in AWS and Google Cloud environments. You will contribute to automation, monitoring, incident response, and continuous improvement while working with database, platform, and application teams.\nWhat to do:\nAdminister PostgreSQL databases across development, testing, and production environments.\n\nPerform database configuration, patching, upgrades, backups, and recovery activities.\n\nMonitor database health, availability, performance, capacity, and resource utilization.\n\nTroubleshoot database issues and support incident resolution, root cause analysis, and problem management.\n\nSupport database security, access management, auditing, and compliance-related tasks.\n\nSupport high availability and disaster recovery solutions for PostgreSQL platforms.\n\nCreate and maintain scripts, automation, and Infrastructure as Code practices to reduce manual work.\n\nImprove monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability across AWS and Google Cloud environments.\n\nYou check these boxes:\nActive experience in recent 2-4 years of administering PostgreSQL databases, cloud database services, or infrastructure platforms in production environments.\n\nKnowledge of PostgreSQL administration, backup and recovery, performance tuning, and database operations.\n\nExperience writing and troubleshooting SQL queries.\n\nExperience with managed database services in AWS and/or Google Cloud.\n\nUnderstanding of cloud infrastructure, networking, storage, security, high availability, and disaster recovery concepts.\n\nExperience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or similar, plus basic Linux/Unix administration knowledge.\n\nFamiliarity with Infrastructure as Code, automation tools, DevOps practices, and CI/CD concepts.\n\nPreferred: experience with AWS RDS for PostgreSQL, Aurora PostgreSQL, Cloud SQL, AlloyDB, Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, OpenTelemetry, or cloud migration initiatives.\n\nProfessional Skills\nBuilds reliable systems and thinks ahead about what can go wrong, making sure things keep working and improve over time.\n\nTakes ownership of work from start to finish and works closely with others to get the right outcome for the user.\n\nKeeps things simple, focuses on what matters, and removes unnecessary steps or complexity.\n\nActs quickly on the most important work, adapts when needed, and learns from feedback.\n\nSupports others, leads by example, and helps create an environment where people can do their best work.\n\nLearns fast, adjusts easily to change, and keeps improving in a fast-moving environment.\n\nDelivers strong results and helps raise the level of the whole team.\n\nContributes to a positive team culture by being open, respectful, and constructive, and by not tolerating toxic behavior.\n\nWhy you will like us:\nPossibility to benefit and learn from our international, talented and passionate community at Erste\n\nInterest groups and clubs: Take part in discussions and get involved in projects.
