As an Auditor using Data Analytics, you’ll work with a skilled audit team and a dedicated fraud risk management function to deliver a diverse portfolio of assignments across all ESB Business Units.\nThis position offers a unique opportunity to influence how ESB manages risk, drives innovation, and achieves its strategic objectives. Your insights will help shape decision-making and support continuous improvement across the organisation.\nKey Responsibilities\nDeliver High-Impact Audits: Plan, manage, and deliver audit assignments that support ESB’s strategic priorities and operational goals.\nLead Data-Driven Auditing: Apply data analytics and data-enabled audit methodologies to support and accelerate assurance and Fraud Risk Management activities.\nDeliver Risk Assessments: Conduct data-driven risk assessments to inform audit scoping and planning activities.\nEnable Continuous Monitoring: Support the establishment of continuous monitoring for assurance and Fraud Risk Management activities.\nDevelop Analytics Capability: Enhance Internal Audit’s data analytics capability through dashboards, automated testing routines, and continuous auditing techniques.\nEngage Stakeholders: Collaborate with business stakeholders to obtain, analyse, and interpret data, translating findings into actionable audit insights and recommendations.\nCollaborate for Delivery: Work closely with colleagues and stakeholders to deliver the audit schedule efficiently and contribute to ESB’s overall success.\nChampion Best Practice: Apply industry-leading data analytics methodologies, drive process improvement, and continuously develop professional skills in auditing, analytics, communication, and stakeholder engagement.\nCommunicate Insights: Present findings and recommendations to management, supporting issue resolution and informed strategic decision-making.\nSupport Integrity and Wellbeing: Participate in investigations as required and promote ESB’s values relating to health, safety, and wellbeing.\nExperience and Qualifications\nEssential\nRecognised professional or third-level qualification, or equivalent experience\nMinimum of 5+ years' professional experience overall, including at least 3 years in internal audit, external audit, finance, risk management or governance roles\nProven capability in the use of industry-standard data analytics methodologies\nStrong analytical capability, with experience using data analytics and visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI, SQL, Python, Alteryx, Excel or similar) to extract, analyse and interpret data in support of audit, risk management and assurance activities\nAbility to plan and organise work at scale, delivering to required timescales and quality\nGood understanding of governance, risk management and audit frameworks\nStrong stakeholder management, communication and teamwork skills\nDesirable\nInstitute of Internal Auditors Certification \nRecognised professional Data Science / Data Analytics qualification \nIndustry certifications in governance, risk management or compliance \nProject management qualification \nLocation\nThis position will be based in ESB Head Office, 27 Fitzwilliam, Dublin 2.\nSmart Working at ESB is designed to make ‘in-person’ time together as purposeful as possible while also enabling the effective use of digital tools and hybrid arrangements to preserve our commitment to flexibility. The successful candidate may work flexibly within the jurisdiction where they have been employed, with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration at least two days per week.
