This role involves close collaboration with design teams, ESB partners, and Contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.\nKey Responsibilities\nDeliver designs from feasibility through detailed design for infrastructure projects design teams.\n\nSupport engineering works packages: scope definition, design, procurement, technical assessment and commercial oversight.\n\nCo-ordinate with internal and external stakeholders to progress projects through all lifecycle stages and governance gates - from concept stage through to construction.\n\nParticipate in due diligence reviews of internal and external designs to ensure compliance with relevant specifications.\n\nContribute to design risk assessments for all engineering deliverables.\n\nProvide technical input to project teams and collaborate with colleagues to ensure quality and compliance with standards.\n\nExperience and Qualifications\nEssential\nLevel 8 Engineering Degree or equivalent.\n\nMinimum 3 years of relevant engineering experience.\n\nProven ability to contribute to the management of significant projects or key aspects of projects.\n\nGood commercial and project management skills.\n\nGood safety awareness and communication skills.\n\nValid driver's license for ROI, access to a car, and flexibility to travel nationwide.\n\nDesirable\nWorking towards Chartership in a recognised professional institution\n\nExperience in utility or linear infrastructure projects\n\nFamiliarity with FIDIC Conditions of Contract or similar\n\nExperience in performing the role of designer on projects\n\nLocation\nThis position will be based in ESB Engineering and Major Projects (EMP) Offices in Dublin or Cork.\nESB is committed to smart working - combining digital tools with a culture of trust and empowerment to enable flexible ways of working.
