Networks have recently re-aligned our SMT structure to focus on Distribution Markets and System Operation (DMSO) capabilities required to meet the recent Energy Demand Strategy (CRU 21/06/2023) and accelerated Climate Action Plan targets.\nThe System Performance Supervisor will be part of the wider Operations Team with wide ranging responsibility for network performance across all voltage levels. The successful candidate will be expected to be experienced in problem identification and have the necessary skills to deliver complex technical solutions. The position will have extensive interactions throughout the business around the country.\nKey Responsibilities\nManage and coordinate relevant stakeholders associated with DSO Generators such as Wind, Solar and Battery, including pre and post energisation and the production of agreed interface protocols and procedures.\nDistribution Code Compliance Testing of DSO Generators from NDCC as required.\nInteraction with new and existing HV Demand and Generation customers.\nDevelopment of Operational Instructions for generation & demand customers on the Distribution System\nProvide support to MV System Managers regarding MV system performance and MV Centralised Control.\nProgramme, maintain and issue of new and existing Cellos\nManagement of the Apex platform improvements and updates for stakeholders contact database, restoration guides and control room fault reporting.\nLiaise with the wider DSMO team in a view of improving and expanding on Distribution Market products and provide operational knowledge and guidance where required.\nInvestigation, reporting and follow up of nuisance alarms for NDCC.\nDue diligence investigations on all aspects of the system operational performance\nFault and operational incident investigation\nCarry out Operational Assessments on ESB Networks Operators\nInteraction with EirGrid on system performance and security issues\nInput into Operational and Asset Management policy\nManagement of ESB Networks Operational SLA’s with 3rd parties\nOperations briefing and training within ESB Networks\nKnowledge, Skills and Experience\nEssential\nMinimum of 3 years relevant experience\nAdvanced Level 6 Electrical Craft Certificate/A suitable Level 7 or higher qualification in Electrical, Electrical Services, Electronics, Mechanical or other suitable alternative qualification with a sizeable electrical theory content\nStrong knowledge of existing operational policies, procedures and Electrical Safety Rules\nExcellent communication, interpersonal and reporting skills\nAbility to work within a team environment and work with stakeholders across the business.\nDesirable\nKnowledge of network assets and standards, substations and protection\nKnowledge of the Distribution Code\nKnowledge of NMS and SCADA NM9 systems\nIT skills (including Microsoft Office applications)\nQualifications\nEssential\nA technical qualification or equivalent work experience\nFull clean driving licence\nAdvanced Level 6 Electrical Craft Certificate, 3rd Level Qualification or equivalent work experience.\nLocation\nFlexible. However, attendance in Leopardstown Road along with site visits will form part of the role.\nSmart Working at ESB is designed to make ‘in-person’ time together as purposeful as possible while also enabling the effective use of digital tools and hybrid arrangements to preserve our commitment to flexibility.
