Works with the Systems Engineers in the installation of new systems and the ongoing administration and support of servers and hyper-converged platforms. Provides Tier 3 technical support as escalated by the Desktop Support team. Escalates systems issues to Systems Engineers as appropriate and works with Systems Engineers to resolve. Provides quality systems consultation to business units and other Systems & Technology departments as directed.\nAccountabilities:\nWork with the Systems Engineers in the planning, installation, maintenance, monitoring and upgrades of ESL’s systems infrastructure.\nConfigure and assist with the installation and upgrade of ESL systems including but not limited to VMware, Nutanix, Citrix, Windows Servers, Linux Servers, etc.\nEnsure that hardware and software systems are properly maintained and monitored to achieve a minimum up-time of 99.5% or better.\nProviding day-to-day support in the monitoring and administration of ESL systems including but not limited to VMware, Citrix, Microsoft 365 Applications, Windows Servers, Linux Servers, etc.\nWork with the Systems Engineers in building, maintaining and documenting base server builds.\nWork with Information Security to assure that ESL’s systems are secure and meet all operational and regulatory guidelines.\nConduct testing of new/upgraded systems and/or software.\nParticipate in local and corporate projects, and act as a Network Services consultant to those project teams.\nCollaborate with vendors to resolve issues and address ESL business needs. \nEnsure that Network Services documentation is well-organized, up to date and maintained in a fashion that provides easy access and usability.\nWork with the business units and Business Systems Analysts to ensure a stable, scalable, and secure End User Computing Environment\nWorking with the Applications Support team and end users to engineer solutions to support our business application portfolio in a Citrix Environment.\nEnsure our Citrix environment is up to date with versions and support.\nResolve any performance and stability issues in a timely fashion.\nMonitor the Citrix Environment to ensure proper performances levels are met.\nContinually improve the End User Experience within Citrix by leveraging our monitoring tools and new features and functionality that Citrix offers.\nAssist the Manager of Desktop Support by providing backup, Tier 3 support and by acting as a liaison between Desktop Support and the Systems Engineers\nWork with Desktop Support Technicians on Tier 3 support issues and escalate and work with Systems Engineer on these issues as appropriate.\nBackup the Manager of Desktop Support in the coordination of Network Support workflow, escalation of support issues, procurement of equipment, etc.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s Degree in Information Systems/Computer Sciences or other related discipline, or 4 additional years of strong equivalent experience as a Systems Administrator \n2+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator\nIntermediate knowledge of Microsoft Server Operating Systems, Active Directory, Exchange Online, Office365 Applications\nIntermediate knowledge of and experience with server virtualization\nFoundational knowledge of networking\nFoundational knowledge of Linux\nKnowledgeable on multiple hardware/software platforms\nStrong planning, organizing, and coordination skills\nExcellent analytical and interpersonal skills required\nWork effectively with all levels of ESL organization\nExcellent communication and presentation skills\nMust be flexible with working hours that occasionally change on short notice to cover unexpected business needs. Must be available to respond to system issues on 24X7 basis\nFrequent standing, walking, use of telephone and computer, lifting up to 50 lbs\nDemonstrates alignment with ESL’s Core Values, mission, vision, and Purpose to help our community thrive and prosper\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n3 or more years’ experience in systems administration preferred.\n3 or more years’ professional experience with Microsoft Server Operating Systems, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 applications (Teams, Outlook).\nExperience administering a Citrix environment \nExperience managing a hyper-converged platform such as Nutanix or VMWare vSAN\nExperience with scripting and task automation\nExperience in Azure or comparable cloud technologies\nWe’re committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
