The school provides education to day pupils, and via our unique Turning the Curve provision, to young people who have been disengaged from education for significant periods of time.\nWe aim to maintain a nurturing and accepting environment for young people who have not had their needs met in other settings. Likewise, we also aim to provide a work/life balance to staff not available in larger schools.\nThe Role\nWe are seeking candidates with experience of working 1:1 with pupils away from a classroom environment, planning and delivering activities aimed at re-engaging young people with a history of school non-attendance or disengagement.\nThe role goes beyond academic tutoring and is suitable to candidates who have experience working in the alternative provision space or non-school settings.\nKey Responsibilities\nWriting and maintaining Support Plans for specific pupils\nMentoring individual pupils\nDelivering ½ day AP sessions, including away from school site, to referred pupils\nSafeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people\nLiaising with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure pupils who are identified as being in need of support receive appropriate support \nTaking part in any relevant meetings to assist with pupil welfare e.g. review meetings with parents/carers and external agencies \nFeedback and liaison with parents where applicable\nFeedback and liaison with teachers and other support staff\nFeedback and liaison with Senior Leadership Team (SLT). \nThe nature of the role is such that flexibility and self-motivation are crucial to success.\nWhat We Can Offer\nThere are so many reasons to join us.
