We actively develop new capabilities, and have openings for energetic, organized, and proactive individuals to test the quality and performance of these solvers, and to contribute to their future design and documentation.\nEsri has a Relocation Assistance Program and can provide support with relocating to the Redlands, CA area for this position.\nResponsibilities\nGain a thorough understanding of the fleet routing solvers\nExtend and maintain an extensive suite of test cases that exercise various features of the fleet routing solvers\nCreate adversarial test cases to expose potential flaws in solution quality\nBuild, run, and monitor the performance, durability and scalability of the fleet routing solvers\nCreate compelling and clear data visualizations of testing results\nCollaborate with development programmers to design and build innovative new functionality\nEngage with customers to understand their real-world business problems, and to model those problems using Esri fleet routing functionality\nResearch and analyze customer requests and industry standards to establish and define new solver requirements\nTroubleshoot and diagnose customer problems involving solution quality or performance\nTest and document recommended workflows for ArcGIS users and developers\nCreate innovative solutions combining various Network Analyst and other GIS techniques, within the broader context of strategic planning and territory design\nRequirements\n2+ years of experience in one of the following:Developing test data and test cases as well as designing and running stress and load tests\nStatistical analysis on large datasets to summarize data, discover trends and patterns, and provide insight\nJupyter Notebooks and Python's visualization and data science libraries (such as Matplotlib and Pandas)\n\nExperience developing applications in Python and the use of REST APIs\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nProven ability to analyze and solve problems in rigorous and innovative ways\nBachelor’s degree in operations research, computer science, mathematics, data science, or related field\nRecommended Qualifications\nMaster's degree in operations research, computer science, mathematics, data science, or related field\nKnowledge of Vehicle Routing Problem models such as electric vehicle routing and household waste pickup\nKnowledge of route optimization methodologies, especially the use of metaheuristics\nExperience with statistical design of experiments and algorithm tuning\nPassion for finding the needle in the haystack\nTotal Rewards\nEsri’s competitive total rewards strategy includes industry-leading health and welfare benefits: medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance for employees (and their families), 401(k) and profit-sharing programs, minimum accrual of 80 hours of vacation leave, twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year, and opportunities for personal and professional growth.
