Our team’s work sits at the intersection of GIS, data engineering, analytics, and product development. We spend a lot of time thinking about real customer workflows: how data gets from source systems into ArcGIS, where users encounter issues while integrating their data, and how we can make those processes simpler and more reliable.\nThis is not a narrowly focused QA, design, or development role. Product Engineers on our team contribute to all these areas. You will design, build, and enhance test automation frameworks, investigate customer issues, review designs, document features, and collaborate directly with users and developers to help build the ArcGIS Data Pipelines product.\nIf you're naturally curious, enjoy exploring how complex systems work, and are excited to learn and create something new, you'll thrive on our team.\nResponsibilities\nDesign, develop, and maintain test harnesses and test cases for new and existing functionality\nRun manual and automated tests and investigate unexpected behavior or results\nWork closely with software developers and fellow product engineers throughout the product development cycle\nAdvocate for user workflows during design and planning discussions\nCreate demos, samples, blog posts, and technical content that help customers understand new capabilities\nParticipate in conversations with users to understand how they prepare, integrate, and manage data\nRequirements\n2+ years of experience using Python or another scripting language\nExperience using testing frameworks such as pytest\nUnderstanding of APIs and API design principles\nExperience combining, preparing, transforming, or validating data from multiple sources\nFamiliarity with ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, or similar web-based GIS platforms\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nComfortable presenting technical information to groups\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing needs\nSelf-motivated, inquisitive, and willing to learn new technologies and workflows\nBachelor's degree in GIS, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field\nRecommended Qualifications\nMaster's degree in GIS, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field\nExperience with PySpark\nExperience with NoSQL databases, relational databases, cloud warehouses, or object storage platforms\nExperience evaluating emerging technologies and determining practical applications\nProject management experience\nExperience with ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise\nWe encourage you to include a cover letter highlighting why you're interested in the role and how your experience aligns with the position.\nTotal Rewards\nEsri’s competitive total rewards strategy includes industry-leading health and welfare benefits: medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance for employees (and their families), 401(k) and profit-sharing programs, minimum accrual of 80 hours of vacation leave, twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year, and opportunities for personal and professional growth.
