As a Technical Consultant, Enterprise Data Engineer, you will design and implement scalable geospatial data platforms that support Defense and Intelligence operations.\nYou will work directly with customers to architect data solutions that integrate, manage, and optimize complex datasets across secure environments. From database design and performance tuning to high availability and data security, your work will ensure that critical geospatial information is delivered reliably to the people who depend on it most.\nThis role combines enterprise data engineering, geospatial technology, and mission impact, giving you the opportunity to solve complex data challenges in environments where performance, scale, and reliability are essential. \nEsri has a Relocation Assistance Program and can provide support with relocating to the Redlands, CA area for this position.\nResponsibilities\nDesign and implement robust, scalable, and secure database solutions to support mission-critical applications\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams during all phases of implementation including requirements, analysis, design, build/configuration, and deployment\nConfigure and maintain database environments, including backup, restore, high-availability, and disaster recovery strategies\nMonitor and tune database performance using industry-standard tools and methodologies (such as query optimization, indexing strategies)\nImplement data security measures, access controls, and compliance standards across environments\nAutomate routine database loading, maintenance, and monitoring tasks to improve efficiency\nProvide technical guidance and best practices for database design, migration, and integration projects\nRequirements\n5+ years of hands-on experience in database design, administration, and optimization for Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or SAP HANA\nFamiliarity with database design principles, data loading techniques, backup and recovery solutions, performance monitoring and tuning, database maintenance, and security\nScripting skills in SQL and Python for automation and data workflows\nExposure to geospatial concepts such as spatial data types, coordinate systems, and spatial indexing\nAbility to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to technical peers and non-technical project managers or customers\nUS citizenship with Active or Current (within 2 years of active) Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, GIS, or related STEM field\nRecommended Qualifications\nExperience with ArcGIS Enterprise geodatabases\nKnowledge of integrating GIS with other enterprise systems\nCompTIA Security + certification\nOne or more industry-standard IT certifications (such as Esri, Microsoft, Amazon, PostgreSQL, Oracle)\nMaster`s degree in computer science, mathematics, GIS, or related STEM field\nTotal Rewards\nEsri’s competitive total rewards strategy includes industry-leading health and welfare benefits: medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance for employees (and their families), 401(k) and profit-sharing programs, minimum accrual of 80 hours of vacation leave, twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year, and opportunities for personal and professional growth.
