This full-time position is based in Rockledge, FL, and offers an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to a culture built on quality, integrity, and teamwork.\nThe Forklift Operator is responsible for operating an industrial forklift truck to load and unload various materials and move them to and from assigned locations. Additionally, this position also requires material handling. The forklift operator must pay attention to detail to ensure the product is delivered accurately and on time, and to ensure the material is loaded correctly into the designated machine. This position requires adherence to safety standards in place to secure product as well as protect fellow employees.\nResponsibilities\nSupport the CARE values of the organization. \nCommit to producing a quality product for our customers. \nIdentifies and transports requested materials to and from various locations including machines, loading docks, railroad cars, trucks, and storage areas. \nObtains production schedule and/or shipping orders and then identifies, verifies, and transports requested raw materials, equipment, or processing materials accordingly. \nApplies understanding of machine loading capacity and loading schedule, ensuring prompt and efficient delivery of required items. \nUses protective materials and strapping equipment to protect and secure loads; once delivered, removes strapping and wrapping, then safely disposes of waste materials in designated containers or areas. \nReports any problems with materials or transportation to supervisor. \nManages and piles drums, skids, pallets, and other supplies in specified areas. \nServices equipment as needed, reporting mechanical or electrical difficulties to truck mechanic. \nPerforms other related duties as requested. \nOther duties as assigned. \nRequirements\nHigh school diploma or its equivalent required with 2-3 years' experience with forklift operation \nValid state-issued motor vehicle license.\nAbility to effectively and respectfully communicate with multiple departments, read detailed instructions, possess basic math skills \nAbility to handle equipment and vehicles safely and sensibly. \nWorking Relationship\nCommunication is required across all levels of the organization- executive team, other functional leaders, subordinates and production floor workers. The forklift operator works under the immediate supervision of the Department Supervisor.\nPhysical Requirements\nMust be able to lift/move in excess of 50 lbs. at a time \nStand, walk, stoop, and perform motions for an extended period \nPPE\nSafety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes at all times while on the production floor.\nSafety\nThis position expects to adhere to all safety rules to include the use of all require protective personal equipment (PPE).
