Work shift schedules including weekends and holidays, and overtime as needed.JOB DUTIES:\nOperate production equipment under the supervision of the shift supervisor as follows:\nPackaging\nMonitor product volume, temperatures, times, and pressure readings \nMonitor gauges and record information as needed\nKnow the type of product, the source, and all the handling procedures involved in each processing procedure.\nFull understanding of product flow.\nMaintain a safe, clean, organized work area throughout the facility.\nMaintain general housekeeping of production areas.\nPerform tasks of receiving product, starting, running, shutting down, and cleaning the dryer/evaporator and associate equipment.\nCollect hourly production readings, color, moisture and temperature, monitor bag house, check air pressure, monitor machinery and notify supervisor when something is out of specification.\nEnsure all charts are charts are properly documented according to company and regulatory regulations.\nEnsure all paperwork is done correctly and completely.\nOperate pallet jack and forklift.\nPrepare bags to fill using established label and numbering system in accordance with procedures.\nProficient computer skills to print out packaging labels.\nFill, weigh, seal and load bags on pallets (must be able to lift 60 lb. bags 6 feet high).\nBag and blend finished powder, weigh and sample product, palletize product and move pallets (may require a forklift or pallet jack).\nComply with, and follow, company food safety and quality policies.\nAdhere to all SOPs, procedures and quality requirements.\nPerform elementary mechanical and carpentry repairs throughout plant as instructed by supervision.\nEngage in continuous improvement and process improvement\nAnticipate problems and implement solutions\nDemonstrate good judgement in safeguarding customer, company, vendor and employee information.\nAssume responsibility for the attainment of plant goals and objectives.\nMaintain cooperative working relationships and communications with employees from all other departments and peers.\nJOB REQUIREMENTS:\nAbility to prepare and operate all packaging machinery.\nHave general knowledge of production/manufacturing methods.\nAbility to read gauges and record data in a legible manner and in accordance with established procedures.\nAbility to learn to handle inedible protein materials in accordance with established sanitary procedures and practices.\nAbility to understand and follow established work procedures, including mandated sanitary and safety guidelines.\nMust be able to read, write and speak in English, to prepare and comprehend logs, schedules, and communicate with fellow employees.\nAbility to operate forklift/pallet jack.\nAbility to perform basic math skills.\nAbility to move freely throughout plant with sustained physical/mental effort to climb, sample and clean equipment and work areas.\nAbility to remain calm and professional during peak periods.\nAbility to troubleshoot malfunctions and situations as they arise, notifying appropriate staff of problems beyond scope of normality.\nAbility to cooperate with all staff.\nAbility to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.\nAbility to work daily and overtime as necessary.\nAbility to assist in all work areas.\nTakes on additional responsibility when both big and small tasks need to be done.\nFirmly adheres to the values and ethics of APC\nWilling to work with others, collaborating and compromising when necessary, promptly share relevant information with others\nIs open to changing situations and is willing to perform all tasks when and where assigned\nAble and willing to perform task and duties independently\nMaintains a positive and professional attitude and work ethic\nFollow all GMPs and work in a manner consistent with all corporate, regulatory, food, safety, quality and sanitation requirements.\nBASIC PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:\nApproximate: 12 Hour Day (may be longer during peak season)\nKey: Occasional = 0% - 33%\nFrequent = 34% - 66%\nContinuous = 67% - 100%\nN/A = Not Applicable\nStanding Continuous\nSitting Occasional\nWalking Frequent\nBending/Kneeling/Crouching/Stooping Frequent\nReaching Above Shoulder Frequent\nClimbing (stairs, ladders, etc.) Frequent\nConfined Spaces Occasional\nWorking on Heights:\nUnprotected Heights Occasional\nProtected Heights Occasional\nLifting weights from 1 to 80 lbs. at waist level Frequent\nLifting weights from 1 to 60 lbs. at floor level Frequent\nLifting weights from 1 to 50 lbs. at shoulder level Frequent\nPush/Pull/Maneuver Equipment/Products/Materials\nWeighing with up to 80 lbs. of force.
