Discover more by following us on LinkedIn!\nJOB DESCRIPTION\nGENERAL FUNCTION\nYou will carry out all tasks required in the surfacing department. You must be autonomous, with team-work abilities and good observational and manual skills. You will act as a multitasked technician that must be versatile and can execute all basic activities in an edging and mounting department.\nThe work schedule is Monday to Friday (night shift) but may be subject to change depending on operational and business needs, potentially requiring employees to work weekends and holidays as well.\nYou may need to work different hours in the beginning for training purposes.\nMAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nUtilizing the blocking machine to accurately secure a block to all lenses going through the surfacing department. You'll operate taping equipment to apply protective tape to the front of the lenses.\nOperating the equipment used to fine and polish all lenses going through the surfacing depart.\nHand washing and drying lenses followed by a brief cosmetic inspection of the lenses. You'll grasp lenses with a de-blocking cup and strike it against the table to remove block from lenses, and also remove tape from lenses.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nIf you have experience, great! If not, that’s ok too…we will train you.\nJob experience will be considered in place of High school diploma or GED.\nProficient in English (ability to read, write, and speak fluently).\nAnyone 18 years of age or older may apply.\nManufacturing experience a plus.\nThe ability to meet measurable standards in a dynamic production environment. Depth perception, use of fine motor skills and manual dexterity.\nStrong oral and written communication skills.\nAttention to detail.\nMust be able to walk/stand for full duration of the shift.\nAbility to adapt to change\nBe able perform repetitive movements with upper and lower extremities.\nMust be able to regularly lift 10 pounds.\nPay Range: $17.60 - $22.00 This position is eligible for a shift premium.\nThis posting is for an existing vacancy within our business. Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
