We also supply coatings, inks, inserts and other innovative products to customers throughout the world.\nOur team members bring our mission to life each and every day by helping people see a brighter world.\nJOB DESCRIPTION\nGeneral Function:\nMaintain, install and repair a variety of complex electrical systems and equipment required to operate and control production machines and building facilities and ensure compliance with required codes and regulations.\nGentex Optics is a manufacturing facility that operates 24 hours per 7 days a week. This position will be required to respond to the facility during un-scheduled work hours.\nAs a member of a high performance team you will be responsible for a variety of jobs. As the team progresses, you, along with your team members will be a key decision maker in the operation of your part of the business. \nMajor Duties and Responsibilities:\nRespond to equipment problems. Troubleshoot and diagnose problem and develop corrective action. Perform repairs within jurisdiction and inform supervisor of need for larger repairs.\nMeet with supervisor of previous shift and be informed of equipment problems requiring attention as needed.\nPerform electrical preventative maintenance (PM) on production equipment and inspect wiring and circuits for appropriate shielding and grounding. Install PM readings in computer and update PM sheets.\nDesign or modify controls to upgrade existing equipment and improve safety and productivity. Make recommendations regarding new equipment, plant layout and other maintenance matters.\nPerform all building maintenance of an electrical nature including fire, evacuation and emergency lighting systems. Ensure maximum energy conservation. Make designs and layouts and ensure accurate records, prints and documentation.\nMonitor work of outside contractors and ensure compliance with requirements, codes and regulations and Gentex company policies.\nCover FLR for breakdowns.\nMaintain an adequate inventory of parts and supplies to ensure prompt response to equipment breakdowns\nMaintain necessary records. Report improper operation of faulty equipment and unusual conditions to supervisor. Maintain work area and equipment in clean, safe and orderly working condition. Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations. Maintain quality standards.\nBasic Qualifications:\nMassachusetts Electrical Journeyman’s license\n3-5 years experience in an industrial setting\nPreferred Qualifications:\nMaster Electrician licensure a plus\nExperience with injection molding machines a plus\nPay Range: 30.57 - 43.73\nThis posting is for an existing vacancy within our business.
