Discover more by following us on LinkedIn!\nJOB DESCRIPTION\nGENERAL FUNCTION\nThe Quality Engineer manages supplier quality.\nMAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nWorks independently to establish quality criteria, plan for implementation, and execute quality plans for all products. Includes inspection planning (PPIP), sample approvals (FAS & LS) and training on requirements.\nCompletes supplier surveys and associated supplier approvals.\nImplements required quality metrics and uses that data to address supplier improvement and concerns.\nEffectively problem solves production issues as they arrive, related to materials, components, or packaging product.\nTravels independently throughout the supply base to address issues and concerns, adjusting to different work environments at suppliers’ facilities.\nHeads up efforts for nonconforming material review and corrective action assignment to the suppliers.\nSupports the Supplier Quality Manager in carrying out higher level requirements and projects.\nInterfaces with upper management and provides needed feedback for important decisions.\nWorks effectively and collaboratively with others.\nPerforms other duties and responsibilities as needed.\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor's degree in an Material Science or in an Engineering discipline\n5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering within a plastics manufacturing/processing environment\nExperience with statistical software (e.g. mini-tab, etc.)\nExhibits a solid product and manufacturing process knowledge base and have growth potential to lead small teams (2-3 people)\nGood problem solver - can work independently to make important decisions\nAble to communicate effectively with a wide range of people\nExcellent organizational skills\nStrong knowledge of Quality systems, Quality process controls, material performance testing\nGeneral understanding of Advance Quality Planning, e.g. AIAG PPAP’s\nStrong analytical problem solving skills and sound statistical application in areas such as DOE, sampling techniques, regression, reliability, FMEA, hypothesis testing etc.\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nExperience in Polymer, Paint and Wafers\nLean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification\nPay Range: $96,854.15 - $132,828.83\nThis posting is for an existing vacancy within our business.
