Candidates selected during the proposal phase may be asked to provide an updated resume and other information required for proposal submission.\nAbout the Role\nEssnova Solutions is seeking experienced Lead Application Developers - SME to support a large-scale federal application modernization initiative supporting the U.S. Census Bureau.\nThis role is designed for highly experienced software development professionals with deep expertise building, integrating, and modernizing enterprise Java applications.\nThe ideal candidate has extensive hands-on development experience and can provide technical leadership within complex enterprise development environments.\nWhat You’ll Do\nDesign, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications.\nSupport modernization of complex and legacy application environments.\nDevelop scalable services and application components using modern Java technologies.\nDesign and integrate REST-based services and APIs.\nSupport event-driven application integration using Kafka.\nDevelop and maintain database integrations and application data access components.\nParticipate in CI/CD and automated software delivery processes.\nCollaborate with architects, engineers, testers, security teams, and other development professionals.\nSupport troubleshooting, optimization, integration, and technical documentation activities.\nContribute to application-development standards and modernization practices.\nRequirements\nRequired Qualifications\n15+ years of relevant application/software development experience.\nSenior/SME-level enterprise application development experience.\nDemonstrated experience with:\nJava 8\nJ2EE\nSpring Boot\nHibernate\nKafka\nREST APIs\nPL/SQL\nGit/GitLab\nCI/CD pipelines\nPreferred Qualifications\nCloud certification or demonstrated cloud experience\nSAFe/Scrum or other Agile certification\nCSEP\nWork Location\nThis position supports the U.S. Census Bureau Headquarters in Suitland, Maryland under a hybrid work model.
