Candidates selected during the proposal phase may be asked to provide an updated resume and other information required for proposal submission.\nAbout the Role\nEssnova Solutions is seeking experienced Lead Data Scientists - SME to support a large-scale federal data and technology modernization initiative supporting the U.S. Census Bureau.\nThis senior-level role will support advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data modernization initiatives involving complex and large-scale data environments.\nWe are seeking highly experienced data science professionals with deep expertise in machine learning and deep learning, with particular interest in candidates experienced in Large Language Models (LLMs), MLOps/LLMOps, and Census data analytics.\nWhat You’ll Do\nLead development of advanced data science and analytics solutions.\nDevelop and apply machine learning and deep learning techniques to complex datasets.\nSupport development and operationalization of advanced AI/ML models.\nSupport Large Language Model initiatives and related analytical capabilities.\nDevelop scalable approaches for deploying, managing, and maintaining machine-learning models.\nWork with complex, large-scale data environments.\nCollaborate with data architects, application teams, engineers, cloud professionals, and program stakeholders.\nDevelop analytical models, technical documentation, and recommendations.\nSupport modernization of enterprise analytics and AI/ML capabilities.\nRequirements\nRequired Qualifications\nPhD - required.\n 15+ years of relevant experience - required.\nSenior/SME-level data science experience.\nDemonstrated advanced experience with:\nMachine Learning\nDeep Learning\nAdvanced data analytics\nTarget Technical Experience\nExperience in the following areas is highly desirable:\nLarge Language Models (LLMs)\nMLOps\nLLMOps\nCensus Data Analytics\nPlease note: Candidates must meet both the PhD and 15+ years of relevant experience requirements to be considered for this position.\nWork Location\nThis position supports the U.S. Census Bureau Headquarters in Suitland, Maryland under a hybrid work model.
