This hybrid role combines power system studies, technical support, training, and contributions to ETAP’s software development lifecycle.\nThe ideal candidate has strong expertise in power system analysis and protection, along with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys both deep technical work and engaging directly with customers.\nKey Responsibilities\nPower System Studies & Engineering\nPerform power system modeling, analysis, and design using ETAP and similar tools\n\nConduct studies including load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, arc flash, harmonics, and transient stability\n\nDevelop and deliver detailed technical reports and present results to stakeholders\n\nCustomer Support & Training\nProvide technical support to customers via phone, email, and virtual sessions\n\nTroubleshoot complex engineering and software-related issues\n\nDeliver ETAP workshops, webinars, and training sessions to clients and internal teams\n\nEnsure a high-quality, “white glove” customer experience\n\nR&D and Product Development\nSupport ETAP software development through testing, validation, and feedback\n\nContribute to the development and enhancement of features, models, and technical documentation\n\nDevelop and validate protective device models and simulation scenarios\n\nCollaborate with R&D, QA, and product teams to improve usability and performance\n\nCollaboration & Continuous Improvement\nWork cross-functionally with engineering, product, and customer success teams\n\nStay current with industry standards, emerging technologies, and best practices\n\nContribute to process improvements and innovation initiatives\n\nQualifications\n2+ years of hands-on experience in power system engineering\n\nProven experience performing power system studies using ETAP or similar software\n\nStrong knowledge / expertise in:\nLoad flow analysis\n\nShort circuit analysis\n\nProtection coordination\n\nArc flash analysis\n\nHarmonic analysis\n\nTransient stability\n\nProficiency in ETAP or comparable power system analysis tools\n\nStrong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)\n\nBasic programming knowledge (C#, C++, or MATLAB) is desirable\n\nSolid understanding of industry standards including IEEE, NEC, IEC, and NFPA 70E is a plus\n\nFamiliarity with simulation and modeling tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink) is a plus\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly\n\nU.S. Citizenship or permanent residency/work authorization\n\nEducation\nBachelor’s (B.S.) or Master’s (M.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on Power Systems\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in both customer-facing and product development environments\n\nExposure to relay testing and protection scheme implementation\n\nFE/EIT or PE certification (or in progress)\n\nPrior experience delivering technical training or presentations\n\nSalary Range:\n65,000.00 - 108,000 USD Annual\nThis pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation that the position offers, and final compensation can vary within the range depending on work location, job experience, skills, and relevant educational attainment and/or training.\nETAP requires all successful applicants to undergo and pass a comprehensive background check before they start employment.
