The Site Director provides leadership and oversight of the fellowship educational experience at the participating clinical site and serves as a key liaison between the fellowship program, site faculty, and clinical leadership. This is a temporary, part-time appointment.\nKey Responsibilities Include:\nProvide leadership and oversight of the fellowship educational experience at the participating site.\nProvide and/or coordinate appropriate clinical supervision, teaching, mentorship, and evaluation of fellows.\nMonitor fellow clinical and educational experiences to ensure alignment with program goals, curriculum, and applicable accreditation requirements.\nCoordinate site-based educational activities and support meaningful clinical and scholarly learning opportunities.\nProvide timely, constructive feedback and communicate significant fellow performance or educational concerns to the Fellowship Program Director.\nFoster a professional learning environment that promotes clinical excellence, patient safety, quality improvement, professionalism, scholarly activity, and fellow well-being.\nCollaborate with fellowship leadership, faculty, and clinical leadership to support continuous improvement of the educational experience.\nAssist with program evaluation, accreditation activities, and compliance with applicable institutional and fellowship program requirements.\nAbout the Quillen College of Medicine:\nEast Tennessee State University’s Quillen College of Medicine is nationally recognized for its commitment to primary care education and service to rural and underserved populations. In the 2025 U.S. News & World Report rankings, Quillen College of Medicine was named a Tier 1 medical school for Primary Care and ranked #2 in the nation for Most Graduates Practicing in Medically Underserved Areas.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nKnowledge of graduate medical education principles and fellowship program requirements.\nKnowledge of applicable accreditation standards, institutional policies, and requirements governing fellow education and supervision.\nStrong clinical knowledge and expertise within the applicable specialty or subspecialty.\nAbility to effectively teach, supervise, mentor, and evaluate fellows.\nAbility to assess learner performance and provide timely, constructive feedback.\nStrong organizational and administrative skills.\nAbility to develop and maintain effective educational processes and documentation.\nExcellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and communication skills.\nDemonstrated clinical experience and expertise in the applicable specialty or subspecialty.\nDemonstrated experience in teaching, supervising, mentoring, or evaluating residents, fellows, medical students, or other healthcare learners. \nAbility to identify and address educational, performance, patient safety, and learning-environment concerns.\nAbility to collaborate effectively with program leadership, faculty, clinical staff, and institutional stakeholders.\nCommitment to professionalism, patient-centered care, quality improvement, patient safety, and fellow well-being.\nRequired Qualifications:\nDoctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), or other degree appropriate to the specialty and institutional requirements.\nCurrent medical licensure and appropriate medical staff appointment in the jurisdiction in which the participating site is located, as applicable.\nActive faculty appointment with the Department of Internal Medicine\nBoard certification in the applicable specialty or subspecialty\nSalary - $12,000 per year (temporary position-no benefits)\nApplication Instructions\nExempt positions are required to be posted for minimum of fourteen (14) calendar days.
