As a Developer Platform Engineer, you'll build infrastructure and tooling that enables other engineers to write, test, and ship code more effectively. You'll work alongside experienced engineers on meaningful projects spanning CI/CD, dev environments, and our engineering architecture. This role is a great fit if you enjoy solving problems, care about code quality, and want to grow your skills in a platform engineering context.\nThis is a full-time position reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager.\nWhat's this team like at Etsy?\nThe team focuses on increasing developer velocity and decreasing engineering friction while using industry-standard tooling\n\nWe work closely with other infrastructure, product, and SRE teams to ensure consistency between development and production\n\nWe are actively working on SDLC, CI/CD, and infrastructure architecture at Etsy, as well as improving the developer working environment\n\nEveryone enjoys working with and getting to know each other, and appreciates a good work/life balance\n\nWhat does the day-to-day look like?\nStand-ups, sprint planning, and retros along with other agile ceremonies\n\nOn-call rotations and Slack support for our engineering \"customers\"\n\nPull request reviews and discussions with a focus on quality software engineering practices\n\nWriting and updating documentation with clear protocols for other engineers to follow\n\nCollaborating with engineers across teams to solve shared problems\n\nOf course, this is just a sample of the kinds of work this role will require! Base salary is determined by your location, skills, and experience.\nEtsy uses two geographic pay zones to reflect the labor markets where we compete for talent: one called Geo-1, covering the New York City metropolitan area, San Francisco Bay Area, and Seattle metropolitan area, and one called Geo-2, covering all other U.S. locations. Salary ranges for this role vary by zone and are listed below.\nLocation\nWe prioritize candidates based within commutable distance of Etsy’s Brooklyn Office. Depending on proximity, we ask team members to come in once or twice per week.
