Division: Client Business Strategy - CBS
Euroclear is expanding its Alternatives Funds business in the UK and Nordics, one of our most strategic and fast-growing segments. We are looking for a Business Development Manager based in our London office to help accelerate growth across these key regions.
This is a senior individual-contributor role with full ownership of complex opportunities. Working across both fund managers (GPs) and distribution networks, you will leverage warm leads and existing Euroclear relationships to drive long-term, consultative sales across sophisticated alternative investment environments, supported by a strong brand and internal network.
The role sits within a geographically distributed and collaborative business development team, working closely with colleagues across the UK, the Nordics, and continental Europe.
Key Responsibilities
As Business Development Manager, you will:
- Identify, analyse and develop complex business opportunities within Alternatives Funds Distribution, in line with Euroclear’s growth strategy.
- Lead opportunities end-to-end, owning your client pipeline with full autonomy and accountability for recommendations to senior management.
- Drive growth across the UK and Nordic markets, targeting both fund managers (GPs) looking to optimise distribution and distributors (wealth managers, private banks, platforms, and custodians) seeking access to alternatives.
- Manage long and complex sales cycles, engaging multiple stakeholders across client organisations (commercial, operational, technical and senior leadership).
- Build trusted, long-term relationships with clients, prospects and key industry stakeholders in the alternative investments ecosystem.
- Actively explore new market opportunities within your portfolio and contribute to the evolution of Euroclear’s alternatives infrastructure and offering.
- Collaborate extensively across Euroclear, working with relationship managers, product, operations and technology teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Represent Euroclear externally, including participation in specialized alternative investment forums and targeted market discussions.
- Adopt a structured, curious and forward-looking approach, anticipating market and technology evolution.
- Support and coach junior colleagues, where appropriate.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who brings a blend of commercial drive, relationship skills and credibility in complex financial markets, specifically within alternative assets.
Essential Experience and Skills
- Experience in business development or client-facing roles within the financial services industry, with a demonstrable focus on alternative investments.
- Proven ability to sell complex infrastructure or asset servicing solutions with long decision cycles in a B2B environment.
- Strong knowledge of the alternative fund's ecosystem, including fund managers/GPs, wealth management channels, private banking, and investment platforms.
- Proven discipline in applying structured sales methodologies and consistently using customer relationship management (CRM) tools to manage pipeline, forecasting and client interactions.
- Strong stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to adapt style across senior executives, fund operations, and technical teams.
- A structured, analytical mindset combined with sound commercial judgement.
- Clear communication skills and confidence in influencing internal and external decision-makers.
- Based in London, with the ability and willingness to travel within the UK and the Nordic region (and occasionally to continental Europe).
Desirable
- Established network or experience working with UK and Nordic fund managers and/or wealth managers active in the alternatives space.
- Exposure to international or cross-border fund distribution structures.
- An interest in market innovation, digital assets, and the future of alternative funds distribution.
How Success Is Measured
Success in this role is measured through a combination of:
- Commercial outcomes, including contribution to new revenues and alternative asset growth over time (with an agreed ramp-up period).
- Quality of execution, collaboration and contribution to Euroclear’s culture and values.
- Relationship building, both with clients and internal stakeholders across the UK and Nordics.
