Become the next Development Chemist at Eurofins Environment A/S and complete an Industrial PhD with us.

Eurofins Environment - We work for the environment in Denmark and globally.

Globally, Eurofins environmental laboratories are the largest overall capacities and competences in the environmental field. In Denmark, our laboratories are by far the largest total laboratory network in the country. The laboratory has a declared strategy of being at the forefront of developing new methods and services for the market.

Are you passionate about working with chemical analysis, developing tomorrow's methods and are you ready to become part of a dedicated team? Then it is you we are looking for.

Eurofins Environment is looking for a skilled and dedicated chemist for a permanent position as a development chemist at our laboratory in Vejen. The position is initially targeted at a forthcoming 4-year development and research project, which is carried out in collaboration with a large number of Danish and international partners.

In connection with the 4-year R&D project, you will carry out an Industrial PhD in collaboration with the research group Analytical Chemistry at University of Copenhagen, Section for Environmental Chemistry and Physics (Analytical Chemistry - Institut for Plante- og Miljøvidenskab - Københavns Universitet).

You will work on a project aimed at developing and implementing an AI-assisted decision-support tool to help wastewater treatment plants optimize their treatment processes. The tool will be based on non-target screening (NTS) analysis of micropollutants combined with AI-supported mechanistic modelling. It is expected to predict micropollutant fate, removal efficiency, and associated risks.

The project will be carried out in collaboration with the University of Copenhagen (KU) and several other partners, including wastewater treatment plants.

We offer an exciting job where you will be greatly challenged and where you will have a direct impact on the development of tomorrow’s methods for environmental analysis. You will become an important part of our dedicated and talented team and work closely with the department's other chemists and technicians. Due to the upcoming R&D project, you will have a broad collaboration with Danish and international partners from both the private and public sectors. You will also work closely with Eurofins cross-border sister companies. So, there is good opportunity for international collaborations.

Basically, you will become part of a dynamic and fast-growing international company.

We expect that you are a PhD candidate and that you hold a relevant Master’s degree, e.g. an M.Sc. in Chemistry, with knowledge of and an interest in analytical chemistry. It will be a great advantage if you have worked with method development and one or more of the chromatographic methods. In addition, it will be an advantage if you have knowledge of or an interest in AI.

You speak, read and write English and Danish fluently.

You work systematically and efficiently, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on quality and detail. You communicate well, are open and positive, and collaborate flexibly while sharing knowledge and bringing high energy to the team.

The workplace is our laboratories in Vejen (close to Kolding/Vejle/Fredericia) in Jutland. Some travel activity must be expected and if it is agreed that the position should be part of a PhD program, there will be periodic residence in Copenhagen in connection with courses.
