Media and Buffer Preparation Scientist

• Prepare laboratory media, buffers, stock solutions, reagents, and custom formulations in accordance with approved recipes, batch records, and standard operating procedures.
• Weigh, measure, mix, adjust pH, and verify conductivity, osmolarity, and other required parameters of prepared solutions.
• Execute media and buffer preparation activities utilizing laboratory balances, pH meters, conductivity meters, filtration systems, and related laboratory equipment.
• Review and process material requests to ensure timely preparation and delivery of laboratory supplies.
• Maintain accurate GMP-compliant documentation, batch records, logbooks, labels, and electronic records.
• Perform material dispensing, container preparation, labeling, storage, and distribution activities.
• Support laboratory inventory management by monitoring raw material levels, expiration dates, and storage conditions.
• Verify recipes, formulations, calculations, and preparation instructions prior to execution.
• Troubleshoot preparation issues, material discrepancies, and equipment-related challenges.
• Collaborate with scientists, laboratory personnel, and operational teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
• Follow applicable safety procedures for handling chemicals, hazardous materials, and laboratory reagents.
• Support laboratory housekeeping, equipment maintenance, calibration, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with procedure updates, documentation revisions, and implementation of process improvements.
• Maintain compliance with GxP, GDP, ALCOA+, and laboratory quality requirements.
• Ensure all laboratory activities are performed in accordance with safety policies and regulatory requirements.
• Foster a collaborative, engaged, and team-oriented work environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific discipline.
• Experience preparing laboratory solutions, media, buffers, reagents, or chemical formulations.
• Knowledge of laboratory calculations, solution preparation, concentration conversions, and scientific measurements.
• Experience working in laboratory, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, research, or manufacturing environments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to documentation accuracy.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restrictions or sponsorship.

Preferred Education, Experience, Skills and Certifications

• Experience in a GMP, GLP, GxP, or regulated laboratory environment.
• Experience supporting biologics, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology development laboratories.
• Familiarity with media preparation, buffer formulation, chromatography buffers, and cell culture support materials.
• Experience with laboratory inventory systems, electronic laboratory notebooks (ELN), or LIMS platforms.
• Knowledge of buffer chemistry, solution stability, and formulation development.
• Experience supporting high-throughput laboratory operations and service-based laboratory environments.
• Experience authoring SOPs, batch records, and technical documentation.
• Familiarity with chemical safety, SDS documentation, and hazardous material handling.
