Eurofins companies offer a portfolio of over 200,000 analytical methods to evaluate the safety, identity, composition, authenticity, origin, traceability and purity of biological substances and products.\nIn 2024, Eurofins generated total revenues of EUR 6.95 billion; and has been among the best performing stocks in Europe over the past 20 years.\n Primary Responsibilities\nOwn and drive hands-on design and development of complex, enterprise-scale Java applications.\nLead technical direction for modules or subsystems while remaining actively involved in implementation.\nSupport modernization initiatives, including migration from legacy or monolithic systems to modern architectures.\nAct as a technical mentor and role model for engineers across teams.\nEnsure solutions meet performance, scalability, security, and maintainability expectations.\nCollaborate closely with product, QA, DevOps, and architecture teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.\nSpecific Assignments:\nSoftware Engineering & Development\nDesign, develop, and maintain backend and full-stack features using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and relational databases.\nSupport modernization of legacy Java applications to modern, cloud-ready architectures.\nBuild modular services and support microservices-based designs where applicable.\nDesign and integrate RESTful APIs, backend services, and data models.\nSupport UI teams building Angular or React frontends by providing robust backend APIs.\nImplement high-performance data processing and integration logic for analytical workflows.\nDesign\nApply object-oriented design principles and design patterns (SOLID, OOP, layered / hexagonal architecture).\nContribute to application and solution architecture discussions.\nPerform technical trade-off analysis and guide design decisions.\nEnsure clean, extensible, and maintainable codebases.\nQuality, Performance & Reliability\nEnsure high code quality through unit testing, mocking frameworks, and static code analysis.\nPerform performance profiling, memory analysis, and JVM tuning to resolve bottlenecks.\nSupport performance tuning and stability improvements in production environments.\nWork closely with QA teams to ensure strong test coverage and release quality.\nCollaboration & Agile Delivery\nWork within Agile / Scrum teams, contributing to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.\nSupport end-to-end product development, including development, deployment, and maintenance.\nCollaborate with global teams and stakeholders across regions.\nProvide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers.\nSkills Required\nCore Technical Skills\nStrong hands-on experience with:\nJava (8+), Spring / Spring Boot, RESTful API design, Eclipse, Angular or React, Mongo DB, AKS, etc\nExperience with software design patterns, layered architectures, and performance optimization.\nProficiency in object-oriented design and clean coding practices.\nStrong experience with unit testing and mocking frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, etc.).\nGood hands-on knowledge of performance profiling and memory analysis.\nAdditional Technical Skills\nExperience with microservices architecture, service communication, and integration patterns.\nWorking knowledge of Hibernate / JPA and transaction management.\nExposure to event-driven or message-based systems is a plus.\nExposure to Azure cloud-native development is an advantage.\nExposure in Eclipse RCP is an advantage.\nIntegration - Experience with API-based, file-based, and message-based integrations (e.g., Azure Service Bus or similar).\nDomain Exposure - Experience with shipping/logistics workflows or scientific data processing (e.g., Genomics, laboratory systems) is a plus.\nDevOps -
