With our guidance, our clients can make bold, strategic decisions with confidence.\nOverview of the role\nThe Cloud Engineer (Google Cloud Platform) is responsible for the implementation of business initiatives across Google Cloud Platform, with a particular focus on Data Science and Machine Learning infrastructure. This is a technical position requiring a strong understanding of GCP services and functionality, Terraform, networking, security, automation, and cloud operations.\nIt is expected that the Cloud Engineer can contribute to solution design and articulate technical solutions to both technical and business stakeholders with clarity. Designed and/or implemented solutions must be fit for purpose across several dimensions, notably cost, business requirements, scalability, resilience, performance, security, and maintainability, while allowing for future enhancements and improvements.\nThe Cloud Engineer will work closely with the Data Science team to develop and maintain reusable infrastructure patterns, improve operational efficiency, and enable self-service capabilities through automation and Infrastructure as Code. The role will also contribute to the establishment of cloud standards, governance, cost management practices, and operational processes, while facilitating the distribution of knowledge and skills across the wider Technology team, including the Data Science team.\nRequirements\nWhat you’ll do\nCloud Solutions Implementation - Collaborate with other engineers/technology professionals to implement and thoroughly test a business solution on cloud by completing all requirements.\nContinuous Learning - The Engineer is expected to always be up to speed with latest Cloud Services innovations, looking for ways to use those in the business to make continuous improvements to business continuity, performance, security and costs savings.\nCreating best practices - Create, lead and contribute to creation of best practices and standards on cloud which must be followed when creating any business solutions by all Technology teams.\nCloud Solutions Design - The person must contribute to creation of design for various cloud-based business solutions.\nTraining/Coaching - Spread the knowledge learned across Technology.
