Security Monitoring & Detection Engineering\nDevelop and maintain detection rules, dashboards, alerts, correlation logic, and analytics within:\nSplunk (SIEM)\nSOAR (such as n8n)\ncloud-native SIEM/SOC tools\nendpoint detection tools (EDR/XDR)\nidentity logs\nBuild detections and emerging threat patterns.\nConfigure, monitor and troubleshoot security infrastructure devices and services such as EDR, DLP or CASB\nIdentify opportunities for, and promote automation and new technical solutions and security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and improve efficiency\n2. Incident Investigation & Threat Response\nPerform L3 investigation of security alerts, including:\nanomalous authentication events\nsuspicious network activities\nendpoint compromises\ncloud misconfigurations\nAPI misuse or credential abuse\nExecute containment and remediation actions in collaboration with cybersecurity teams, IT Ops and Engineering teams\nProduce clear incident reports and contribute to RCA and continuous improvement.\nEstablishing disaster recovery procedures and conducting breach of security drills.\n3. Threat Hunting\nConduct proactive threat hunts using:\nlog patterns\nanomalous behavior detection\nthreat intel feeds\nhistorical investigations\ncloud & API-specific threat vectors\nIdentify gaps in security visibility and propose instrumentation improvements.\n4. Security Logging & Observability Integration\nEnsure complete and reliable logging coverage across:\nCybersecurity tools (EDR, DLP, etc.)\nAPIs\ncloud workloads\nnetwork traffic\ndatabases\nCI/CD systems (GitLab)\nWork with Observability teams to ensure correlated visibility (Dynatrace + Splunk).\n5. Vulnerability & Attack Surface Support\nSupport vulnerability management by correlating findings with real activity logs.\nValidate remediation and track exploitation attempts related to EMG systems.\nAssist IT Ops and Engineering teams to prioritize and mitigate vulnerabilities.\n6. Cyber Security Controls Validation\nValidate enforcement of cybersecurity standards (E.g., Zero Trust, MFA, encryption, identity governance).\nTest security controls effectiveness through simulations or red-team collaboration.\n7. Documentation, Playbooks & Knowledge Sharing\nMaintain SOC runbooks, response playbooks, detection documentation, and forensic procedures.\nIdentify and communicate current and emerging security threats\n8. Collaboration Across IT & Business\nWork closely with:\nCISO (governance, escalation, risk alignment)\nCybersecurity Architecture Manager\nIAM teams\nCloud & Production Services\nNetwork & Infrastructure Ops\nDomain Engineering Teams\nEnsure consistent communication and coordination during incidents and monitoring activities.\n IDEAL EXPERIENCE:\n3-8 years in SOC, security operations, detection engineering, incident response, or cyber defense roles.\nHands-on experience with Splunk SIEM, SOAR tools, EDR/XDR, and cloud logging.\nUnderstanding of cloud security (AWS/GCP), API security, microservices architecture.\nSKILLS & COMPETENCIES:\nStrong log analysis, correlation, and detection engineering ability.\nUnderstanding of attacker techniques, threat vectors, malware behavior, identity attacks.\nAbility to operate during high-pressure security incidents.\nKnowledge of IAM flows, network security, and container security.\nOTHER PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:\nAnalytical, methodical, and rigorous.\nCalm under pressure;
