The Industrial Engineer is responsible for continually improving the maintenance of the Eurostar fleet and ensures that the maintenance tasks meet regulatory, safety, operational and technical standards throughout their lifecycle and can be delivered efficiently.\nThis is a permanent role based at our Temple Mills depot in Leyton. Hybrid working is available, with the expectation you attend site a minimum of 4 days per week.\nThe close date for this role is 9am on Monday, 12 October 2026.\nInternal reference only: This is a grade D role, travel services 1-3.\nRequirements\nWe’re looking for someone to:\nLead the development, review and continuous improvement of Vehicle Maintenance Instructions (VMIs), ensuring maintenance activities are safe, compliant and operationally efficient.\nManage and maintain fleet maintenance schedules, star charts and associated asset management records, ensuring documentation remains accurate and up to date.\nDrive maintenance optimisation initiatives that improve fleet reliability, reduce downtime and support increased train availability.\nCollaborate with engineering teams, depot operations, suppliers and international maintenance locations to ensure maintenance plans are practical and consistently delivered.\nSupport the development, selection and implementation of specialised tooling, equipment and maintenance methods.\nLead continuous improvement workshops and process reviews using methodologies such as 5S, Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) and visual management techniques.\nConduct maintenance risk assessments, identify hazards and ensure appropriate mitigations are implemented in line with safety and regulatory requirements.\nProvide engineering support through participation in the on-call rota and contribute to maintenance change management activities.\nYou'll need...\nHNC, HND or degree-level qualification in Engineering or a related technical discipline.\n5+ years' experience in rolling stock maintenance, with strong hands-on knowledge of rail vehicle systems and maintenance practices.\nProven experience developing, reviewing or improving maintenance procedures, technical instructions or maintenance schedules.\nStrong understanding of maintenance optimisation, reliability improvement and continuous improvement methodologies such as RCM, 5S or Lean principles.\nKnowledge of railway safety regulations, risk assessment processes and Entity in Charge of Maintenance (ECM) requirements.\nExperience working with maintenance management and asset management systems to manage technical documentation and maintenance records.\nExcellent analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering and operational teams.\nOccupational Risk Assessor qualification or experience in undertaking maintenance-related risk assessments would be advantageous.\nBenefits\nWe’re constantly working to create a bright future for our company and our colleagues.
