In this position, you’ll work closely with external vendors on new UT development, evaluating the performance to ensure that the implementation is compliant with the System/UT requirements. The candidate also work closely with the internal software team architecting the embedded software for the User Terminal as well as overlooking the hardware development of the User Terminal.\nFor future UT roadmap, the candidate as part of the UT Engineering team will work closely with the E2E System Engineering in shaping the next generation of the UT. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact within an organization that values growth, teamwork, and professional development.\nWho You Are:\nAn enthusiastic software and hardware engineer with good understanding and experience in system engineering, user terminal architecture and embedded software know-how to work on our future UTs. The candidate is familiar with the industry best-practice software development methodologies and design as well as hardware integration.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nThe candidate will be part of the Eutelsat User Terminal (UT) team within the Eutelsat End-to-End (E2E) Engineering group.\nProvide Technical Subject Matter Expertise (SME) support to the internal teams to define and shape the hardware design/architecture and functional specification of our new UT\nProvide SWaP and sizing trade-offs/analysis as part of the UT hardware down-selection process\nWorking closely with the vendors down-selecting hardware and support the integration firmware/software of the chosen hardware platform\nSupport new UT development programs and guide/advice the UT vendors with the best engineering practice in terms of UT design and implementation\nWhere applicable, support the team in the next generation UT architectural design, new ICD and requirement definitions\nWhat You’ll Need:\nGood understanding of the end-to-end wireless communication systems, especially satellite communications\nGood understanding of User Terminal architecture design & development\nDeep understanding/working experience in: Antenna & RF subsystem, Modem Chipset and Electronics\nGood experience in hardware design, integration and manufacturing trade/off \nExperience in liaising with supply chain and 3rd party vendors for the implementation of the User Terminal designs\nUnderstanding of 3GPP, 5G, NTN architectures and definitions\nDesirable but not mandatory areas of expertise: Beamforming network (analog, digital, hybrid), or Satcom Air Interface & Waveforms and PCB design\nScripting and data analysis capability required\nPassionate about complex problem solving with a proven track record of such accomplishments (the last for the senior role)\nFirmly grounded in electronic measurement and instrumentation techniques, including RF measurement\nElectrical/Electronic educational training and background strongly preferred\nWhere You’ll Work: Issy-les-Moulineaux, France or London, UK\nThe Eutelsat Group treats the protection of personal data submitted to it seriously.
