Prospective team members join a growing, product-focused organization with strong roots in the personal care and hygiene sector.\n\nWe are recruiting to fill the position below:\n\nJob Title: Accountant \n\nLocation: Ogba, Lagos\n\nEmployment Type: Full-time\n\nJob Overview\n\n To oversee and manage all factory-related financial activities, including cost accounting, inventory valuation, and production cost control.\n\n The Factory Accountant will ensure accurate reporting of manufacturing costs, support budgeting processes, and provide financial insights to enhance operational efficiency and profitability.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nCost Accounting and Analysis:\n\n Maintain accurate costing systems for products and processes.\n\n Monitor standard costs vs actual production costs; analyse variances and report findings.\n\n Support product pricing decisions through cost analysis.\n\nInventory and Production Cost Management:\n\n Track and value raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods.\n\n Reconcile inventory records with physical counts; investigate and resolve discrepancies.\n\n Support monthly and annual stock-taking exercises.\n\nBudgeting and Forecasting:\n\n Assist in preparing factory operational budgets and forecasts.\n\n Monitor budget performance, identify cost overruns or savings opportunities.\n\n Support management with variance analysis and cost projections.\n\nFinancial Reporting and Compliance:\n\n Prepare factory-related financial reports and performance dashboards.\n\n Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and statutory regulations.\n\n Liaise with auditors during internal and external audits.\n\nPayroll and Labour Cost Monitoring:\n\n Collaborate with HR and production to ensure accurate recording of labour costs.\n\n Analyse labour efficiency and its impact on production cost.\n\nFixed Assets and Capital Expenditure:\n\n Monitor capital investments in the factory, including machinery and infrastructure.\n\n Maintain accurate fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.\n\nCross-functional Collaboration:\n\n Work closely with production, procurement, stores, and logistics teams to ensure cost efficiency.\n\n Participate in operational meetings to provide financial insights and data-driven recommendations.\n\nKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)\n\n Accuracy of cost and inventory data\n\n Timeliness of monthly reporting\n\n Budget variance reduction\n\n Cost-saving initiatives identified and implemented\n\n Audit compliance and control effectiveness.\n\nQualifications and Skills\n\nEducation:\n\n Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.\n\n Professional accounting certification (e.g, ICAN, ACCA) is a strong advantage.\n\nExperience:\n\n 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production accounting role.\n\n Experience with cost accounting, ERP systems, and inventory control.\n\nSkills:\n\n Strong skills in financial accounting and reporting, including ledger management and preparation of financial statements.\n\n Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support decision-making and cost control.\n\n Experience in accounts payable and receivable management, bank reconciliation, and cash flow monitoring.\n\n Knowledge of tax regulations, statutory reporting requirements, and compliance with local accounting standards.\n\n Competence in using accounting software and MS Excel;
