This position serves as the primary link between production planning and manufacturing execution and has functional authority to establish and communicate production priorities necessary to achieve the production schedule.\nThe Production Control Coordinator works closely with Manufacturing Team Leads and production personnel to monitor production progress, identify barriers, coordinate resources, and drive timely resolution of issues affecting schedule attainment.\nThe position provides direction regarding production priorities but does not have primary responsibility for formal employee performance management or disciplinary action. Employee performance, conduct, attendance, or other workforce concerns identified by the Production Control Coordinator are communicated to the Operations Manager for appropriate action.\nReports to: Operations Manager\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nProduction Planning and Scheduling\nDevelop and maintain detailed production schedules based on customer demand, order priorities, production capacity, labor availability, and material availability.\nPerform capacity planning and finite scheduling to balance machine availability, labor resources, and production requirements.\nRelease and manage production work orders within the ERP/MRP system.\nEstablish and communicate daily and weekly production priorities.\nMonitor production progress throughout the manufacturing process and adjust schedules to address delays, equipment downtime, staffing limitations, material shortages, or other operational constraints.\nEnsure production priorities and schedule requirements are clearly communicated to Manufacturing Team Leads and production personnel.\nIdentify schedule deviations and actively coordinate actions necessary to recover production schedules.\nProduction Coordination and Schedule Execution\nProvide functional direction to Manufacturing Team Leads and production personnel regarding production schedules, work-order priorities, and customer requirements.\nMaintain a visible presence on the manufacturing floor to understand actual production status, workflow, constraints, and resource needs.\nRegularly follow up with Team Leads and production personnel regarding progress against established schedules.\nCoordinate production priorities and available resources to support schedule attainment.\nEnsure production priorities and outstanding requirements are effectively communicated between shifts.\nIdentify equipment, staffing, quality, material, or process issues that may prevent achievement of the production schedule and drive timely resolution or escalation.\nHold Team Leads accountable for communicating production status, delays, constraints, and other issues affecting schedule attainment.\nEscalate recurring production execution, accountability, attendance, performance, or conduct concerns to the Operations Manager.\nProvide relevant information and observations to the Operations Manager regarding production performance and employee accountability.\nSupport the Operations Manager in implementing production priorities and operational initiatives.\nDemand and Capacity Alignment\nAlign production plans with sales forecasts, customer orders, and operational capabilities.\nEvaluate production capacity and identify potential bottlenecks or constraints.\nRecommend schedule adjustments, overtime, staffing changes, or resource allocation to the Operations Manager to support production requirements.\nSupport Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) activities as needed.\nMaterials and Supply Coordination\nWork closely with purchasing and inventory teams to ensure raw materials and components are available to meet production schedules.\nIdentify potential material shortages or delays and coordinate mitigation strategies with supply chain partners.\nMonitor inventory levels to support efficient production while minimizing excess inventory.\nERP and Data Management\nMaintain accurate production planning data within ERP/MRP systems, including work orders, schedules, and production status.\nAnalyze ERP and production data to evaluate schedule adherence, production throughput, capacity utilization, and order fulfillment.\nEnsure system information accurately reflects manufacturing status and supports operational reporting and planning activities.\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nCommunicate regularly with Customer Service, Sales, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, and Operations regarding production status, priorities, and delivery expectations.\nFacilitate communication between manufacturing shifts and departments to ensure alignment on production priorities.\nSupport new product introductions and process changes that affect production planning or manufacturing execution.\nEscalate significant production risks or customer delivery concerns to the Operations Manager.\nContinuous Improvement and Accountability\nTrack key operational metrics including schedule adherence, on-time delivery, production efficiency, throughput, and other assigned measures.\nIdentify recurring causes of schedule disruption and work with Operations to implement corrective actions.\nIdentify opportunities to improve production planning, scheduling accuracy, manufacturing workflow, and resource utilization.\nDemonstrate a strong sense of urgency, work ethic, dependability, follow-through, and personal accountability for assigned responsibilities.\nTake ownership of production schedule execution and proactively address issues rather than waiting for problems to be escalated.\nPromote accountability for meeting established production priorities and communicating barriers in a timely manner.\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives related to production planning, operational efficiency, inventory management, and manufacturing performance.\nQualifications\nEducation and Experience\nBachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.\n3-5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, production control, supply chain, or manufacturing operations.\nExperience using ERP/MRP systems required.\nExperience working directly with manufacturing personnel and Team Leads preferred.\nExperience in a multi-shift manufacturing environment preferred.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nStrong understanding of manufacturing operations, production processes, capacity planning, and shop-floor workflow.\nExperience with finite scheduling, production planning, and work-order management.\nAbility to provide clear direction regarding production priorities and gain cooperation without relying solely on formal supervisory authority.\nStrong sense of urgency, ownership, dependability, follow-through, and personal accountability.\nAbility to appropriately challenge delays, missed commitments, or lack of follow-through and escalate concerns when necessary.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret operational data and translate information into action.\nProficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.\nExcellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively across departments and organizational levels.\nAbility and willingness to maintain an active presence on the manufacturing floor and across shifts as operationally necessary.\nWorking Conditions\nWork is performed primarily in an office environment with frequent interaction on the manufacturing floor.\n\nExposure to typical manufacturing conditions including noise, moving
