Joist, an EverCommerce solution group and member of the EverPro suite of products, is an end to end vertical software platform for small & medium-sized trades contractors. The solutions you and your team build must not only work for Joist today but also support rapid iteration and innovation as we grow. Your work will be nothing less than redefining the home renovation industry. The key aspects of this role include:\nInnovate and Develop: Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code for our Web client-side applications.\nCollaborate: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers and designers, to define, design, and ship new features.\nMaintain Code Quality: You write clean, maintainable code and participate actively in code reviews, both giving and receiving feedback effectively.\nDrive Technical Excellence: Identify bottlenecks and bugs, devise solutions to address and mitigate these issues, and document your work thoughtfully to share knowledge with teammates.\nAutonomous Execution - You've done this before. You can pick up an existing codebase, understand its patterns, and start contributing meaningful work within the first couple of weeks. You ask good questions and know when to seek clarification.\nExpanding Your Scope: A willingness to broaden your development experience, potentially culminating in contributing to other platforms.\nSkills and Experience needed for success in this role:\n7+ years of experience developing frontend applications using JavaScript (ideally React) \nStrong JavaScript fundamentals, including common data structures \nProficiency in semantic HTML and CSS, including preprocessors such as Sass \nExperience with component libraries or UI frameworks such as Material UI \nExperience with unit and component testing using tools such as Jest, or React Testing Library \nStrong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with Product, Design, and Engineering \nAbility to work independently, take ownership of assigned work, and deliver high-quality solutions \nExperience leveraging LLM tooling like Claude or ChatGPT to assist you in your work \nBonus Skills and Experience for this role:\nExperience with state management libraries such as Redux or Redux Toolkit \nExperience with TypeScript \nExperience with component development tools such as Storybook \nFamiliarity with Figma \nExperience with Playwright for integration and end-to-end testing \nSome backend or full-stack development experience \nWhere: [Remote worker based in Canada (Joist head office is in Toronto), no travel requirements as a part of the role] \nThe EverCommerce team is distributed globally, with teams in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., New Zealand, and Australia.
