You thrive in innovative and evolving environments with high rates of change. \nYour Role \nAs a Controller, you'll help oversee Evergreen Nephrology's accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness across financial reporting. This includes managing the general ledger, leading month-end and year-end close processes, and preparing financial statements in accordance with GAAP, along with supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and treasury functions. You'll lead a team of accountants, setting clear performance goals and providing mentorship along the way. Partnering with leadership across functions, you'll help shape financial policies and internal controls, and work closely with external auditors and tax professionals to support annual audits and tax filings. This role will report to the SVP of Finance. \nWhile this position is fully remote, you must be able to work 8:30am - 5pm in the Central time zone. \nRole Responsibilities \nThis role's primary duties include the following: \nAccounting, Payroll and Tax Operations: \nManage the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all financial transactions. \nOversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. \nOversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing. \nImplement and maintain robust accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory standards. \nWork with external vendors to prepare annual federal and state taxes. \nAssist with financial reporting, budgeting and long-term planning efforts as required. \n Treasury & Cash Management: \nMonitor cash flow, ensuring the company has adequate liquidity to meet its obligations. \nOversee the administration of the treasury function, including funds flow to various partners. \nIn conjunction with finance leadership, manage banking relationships and optimize the company’s cash position through effective cash management strategies. \n Compliance & Risk Management: \nEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, including tax filings and financial reporting standards. \nOversee the annual audit process, working with external auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit. \nIdentify and mitigate financial risks, including those related to contracts, credit, and operational processes. \n Team Leadership & Development: \nLead and mentor the accounting and payroll team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. \nEvaluate team performance and provide regular feedback, coaching, and training to support career growth. \nEnsure adequate staffing levels and resources to meet the company’s financial reporting and operational needs. \n Other duties consistent with this role, as assigned. \nRequired Qualifications \nBachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA highly preferred; MBA or other advanced degree preferred \nMinimum 12 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 4 years in a leadership role \nProficiency in financial management software and ERP systems; experience specifically with NetSuite highly preferred \nExperience in the healthcare industry, particularly in value-based care or managed care organizations, is highly desirable \nStrong analytical skills and technological proficiency, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic insights \nStrong leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on driving performance and accountability \nHigh level of integrity and ethical standards \nStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy \nIntermediate skills with MS Office Suite of products including Outlook and Teams \nAble to work effectively in a primarily remote environment: Home internet must support a minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps. Cable, Fiber, or DSL connections hardwired to the internet device are recommended \nEvergreen will provide remote employees with telephony applications and equipment to meet the business requirements for their role \nEmployees must work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information \n\n Compensation \nThe base salary pay range for this role is $190,000 to $230,000 annually. Exact compensation will be determined based on experience, education, and other role-specific factors.
