You will work at the intersection of hardware, operating systems, storage, networking, and distributed systems-solving complex problems that directly influence how customers deploy, operate, and scale their environments.\nThis is an opportunity to own meaningful work across the full platform lifecycle: from early hardware bring-up and system validation through manufacturing release, customer deployment, upgrades, and fleet-level reliability. You will partner closely with hardware engineers, system architects, OS developers, and customers to turn ambitious platform requirements into robust, supportable products.\nWHAT YOU'LL DO\nDrive differentiated value from new hardware platforms by shaping architecture and design requirements that improve performance, scalability, and fleet-level efficiency-from early bring-up through manufacturing release, deployment, upgrades, and operations.\nDesign, implement, debug, and deliver user-space software in C and C++ across storage protocols, networking, and data-center architectures.\nDevelop and improve remote server-management capabilities using industry standards such as Redfish.\nDesign and enhance Reliability, Availability, and Serviceability (RAS) features that make platforms easier to operate, diagnose, recover, and maintain at scale.\nBuild and maintain software components and engineering tools in C, C++, Python, Go, and Rust.\nWork hands-on with hardware platforms during bring-up, system-level debugging, validation, customer delivery, and production support.\nPartner with hardware engineers, system architects, and operating-system developers to define specifications, review designs, and ensure seamless hardware-software integration.\nCollaborate with customers and technology partners to understand requirements, resolve complex issues, and follow solutions through to successful delivery.\nLead technical initiatives and influence project direction across multiple engineering teams.\nImprove engineering practices, automation, observability, and operational readiness across the platform lifecycle.\nWHAT YOU'LL BRING\nA B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field-or equivalent practical experience.\nStrong proficiency in C and C++, including object-oriented design and modern C++ standards (C++11 or later).\nStrong Python skills for build and test automation, lab tooling, diagnostics, and system validation.\nExperience with Go and/or Rust is a plus.\nStrong interest in storage and networking protocols, data-center hardware, and distributed systems.\nA desire to investigate problems deeply at the intersection of hardware and software.\nExperience leading teams, technical initiatives, or projects across organizational boundaries.\nHands-on experience with hardware platforms, including requirements feedback, bring-up, system-level debugging, customer delivery, and production support.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines.\nNICE TO HAVE\nExperience shipping or supporting enterprise-class, x86-based appliances.\nExperience with storage or networking protocols and technologies such as NVMe, Ethernet-based fabrics, or related data-center architectures.\nExperience designing for reliability, availability, serviceability, observability, and non-disruptive upgrades.\nExperience working with distributed systems and managing complexity across large-scale deployments.\nExperience building automated test infrastructure, hardware labs, or fleet-scale diagnostics.\nWHY THIS ROLE\nEnd-to-end ownership: See your work move from early platform concepts to customer deployments and production fleets.\nDeep technical challenges: Solve problems where hardware behavior, operating systems, networking, storage, and distributed systems meet.\nBroad influence: Shape platform specifications and engineering decisions across hardware and software teams.\nCustomer impact: Work directly on capabilities that make enterprise infrastructure more reliable, easier to operate, and simpler to scale.\nA culture of learning: Build expertise across the full stack while working with engineers who enjoy going deep and solving hard problems together.\nSalary ranges are determined based on role, level and location.
