You will manage the statutory and regulatory team in an FCA regulated environment.\nThis role will require 1 or 2 days per week in our Leeds or Harrogate office.\nWhat will you do as an External Reporting Manager?\nThis is an overview and not an exhaustive list of responsibilities. Collaborating with your Line Manager, you will develop your own objectives but focus on all of the following and more:\nBe responsible for the co-ordination of year-end process of the annual financial statements.\n\nEnsure annual financial statements are in compliance with IFRS and legal requirements.\n\nManage the relationship with external auditors and tax advisers.\n\nDeliver regulatory, tax and other external reporting deliverables.\n\nBe involved in legal entity life cycle activities during the corporate expansion plans.\n\nProvide technical accounting, regulatory reporting and tax insight including horizon scanning.\n\nImplement and embed a high quality risk and control framework.\n\nTake responsibility for the provision of appropriate information to external audit in efficient timescales to ensure year-end timetables are met.\n\nWork closely with the Financial Control team to ensure complete and accurate ledger based financial information is received in order to meet external reporting requirements.\n\nDeputise for Group Financial Controller for External Reporting related activities.\n\nWho we are looking for?\nWe are looking for someone who has/is:\nQualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA)\n\nExtensive experience working in an external reporting role, producing/reviewing financial statements and managing teams.\n\nStrong working knowledge of chart of accounts, accounting ledgers, reporting systems, IFRS accounting standards and statutory financial statements requirements.\n\nExcellent Microsoft Office skills, including Excel.\n\nIdeally experience within an insurance intermediary with an understanding of regulatory reporting for such entities but not essential.\n\nThis is an opportunity for a self-motivated, organised individual who works well under pressure, with excellent attention to detail. You will need to focus on planning and working to tight deadlines, manage competing priorities, be able to challenge current processes and identify and deliver improvements. You will be adaptable, able to embrace and respond to changes positively.
