Stay for the culture.\nWhat You’ll Be Doing:\nJob Summary\nThis role designs, architects and improves all Microsoft 365 technologies, Intune Suite, Purview, Copilot and integrations with adjacent technologies. The lead seeks to improve digital employee experience, across all digital touch points and proactively addresses security gaps. The engineer also collaborates with technology vendors, product managers, IT security and legal or compliance teams to ensure alignment with company policy and applicable legislation.\nThis role also leads the development and governance of agentic AI solutions-building autonomous agents and AI-driven automation that eliminate manual, repeatable work across the digital workplace-and sets the engineering standards other engineers follow when building with AI.\nEssential Functions\nImplement, monitor and operate digital workplace technologies (endpoint hardware, software, services and SaaS tools)\nIntegrate digital workplace technologies with adjacent technologies (identity, security, vulnerability management, IT service and asset management, remote access, backup, directory services, etc.)\nEnsure stability and security of digital workplace technology through effective endpoint management and timely patching\nSupport security operations processes by monitoring and reporting anomalies related to devices and identities\nActively participate in resolving high-priority outages, troubleshooting efforts and capacity/availability planning sessions\nEstablish computing configuration and operating standards in coordination with IT colleagues\nWork on various digital workplace technology projects\nCreate, publish and communicate knowledgebase articles\nMonitor technology trends and seek ways to enhance continuous improvement initiatives\nAssess criticality of services and applications and automate testing of those deemed critical before patching and upgrading\nProvide IT support for issues escalated from level 1 or level 2\nParticipate in the major incident management process to investigate, diagnose and remediate digital workplace technology outages\nAct as mentor for the IT support and operations teams, forming a tight partnership for mutual success. Ensure information is flowing freely to minimize siloed operations and engineering\nBuild and deploy agentic AI solutions that autonomously execute multi-step digital workplace workflows\nWrite and maintain production-quality code and scripts (Python, PowerShell, C#, or similar) to build integrations, APIs and automation pipelines\nDefine engineering standards, guardrails and governance for the secure, responsible design and deployment of AI agents, including least-privilege permissions, human-in-the-loop controls, evaluation and observability\nPartner with the organization’s AI initiatives to define agent ownership models, reusable agent design patterns and application lifecycle management (ALM) practices\nEvaluate emerging agentic AI platforms, models and tools; lead proof-of-concept development and build/buy recommendations for enterprise adoption\nRequired Qualifications\n10+ years managing or supporting IT systems and platforms\n5+ years of experience implementing digital employee experience (DEX), endpoint management, analytics and automation tools\nExperience with standard IT operations frameworks (e.g., ITIL)\nDigital workplace tool management expertise: tools, techniques, monitoring and integration\nExperience with configuration management, identity and access management, active directory, desktop virtualization, collaboration platforms and other cloud-based services\nExperience implementing modern management of endpoint devices\nExperience with continuous engineering or other agile methods to keep pace with frequent changes and to reduce complexity\nAbility to write technical documentation\nDemonstrated coding/scripting ability (Python, PowerShell, C#, or similar) with a track record of building and maintaining automation, integrations or tools in a production environment\nHands-on experience building or deploying agentic AI solutions \nWorking knowledge of LLM integration patterns: prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and tool/function calling\nUnderstanding of responsible AI, security and governance practices for autonomous systems, including least-privilege access, human-in-the-loop review and monitoring/evaluation of agent outputs\nPreferred Qualifications\nNatural excitement and ability to learn technologies and explain technical issues to a variety of audiences and levels\nPassionate about DEX, with an awareness of the latest digital trends\nExperience using automation to drive continuous improvement, including the use of AI/ML\nExperience leading or contributing to an internal AI pod or scrum team, including agent design, use-case development and ALM practices\nFamiliarity with the Model Context Protocol (MCP) or similar tool-integration standards for connecting agents to enterprise systems\nExperience with agent evaluation and observability practices (tracing, testing harnesses, accuracy/cost monitoring) to ensure agents are safe, reliable and cost-effective in production\nPreferred Education\nBachelor’s degree in IT or related field.\nPreferred Certifications\nMicrosoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate (AI-102) or equivalent agentic AI certification\nGeneral Performance Criteria\nAs the Lead Digital Workplace Engineer, you will be required to fulfill your responsibilities while meeting the following general performance criteria for this position at this level:\nExpertise: You have very deep knowledge of the skills necessary to perform your role, and the structure of the technology for which you are responsible.\nCommunication: You guide others through problem solving whether it is a technical issue, project impediment, or conflict.\nDomain: You guide the delivery of your team to make a positive impact on other parts of the company based on detailed knowledge of the needs of those stakeholders and how those needs are supported by your team.\n[redacted] \nProcess: You question the status quo in a constructive manner to find areas for the team to improve.\nInfluence: You regularly make an impact to your entire team.\nTo ensure a secure hiring process we have implemented several identity verification steps, including submission of a government issued photo ID.
