The team is scaling rapidly and has ambitious growth plans over the next twelve to eighteen months.\nAs part of our current high-growth phase, we are looking for a Materials Engineer to join the team to support materials characterisation on our path to airworthiness certification. Reporting to our Principal Materials Engineer, you will also own material selection, testing and analysis in a range of diverse applications, working throughout the entire product lifecycle from design to manufacturing to flight.\nKey responsibilities will include:\nManaging and conducting the characterisation of materials\nConducting in-house testing as well as outsourcing to approved test houses\nProviding detailed input into the Design Team to ensure that a design meets the requirements for functionality and manufacture; and advising on the application and selection of new materials in our products\nSupporting the Manufacturing Team in the development and continuous improvement of production processes\nConducting and contributing to failure investigations\nDeveloping data processing methodologies and tools, process materials data and manage the materials database\nCreating test procedures for the verification of long-term materials integrity of our products\nWorking with the Supply Chain Team to select and audit suppliers\nReporting and presentation of experiments and results to the wider team.\nSkills and experience required:\nDegree or equivalent in Materials Engineering or related discipline\nPrevious experience carrying out and supporting materials characterisation work, for example mechanical or thermal testing\nStrong materials engineering background and ability to apply this knowledge to real-world situations\nPrevious experience working within a relevant industry, ideally aerospace or automotive\nKnowledge of a wide range of materials and their manufacturing, including metals, polymers, composites, and adhesives\nCreative problem solver, with an analytical approach to implementing solutions\nConfident with customers and suppliers\nA flexible approach to work with the desire to thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving environment\nA 'self-starter' attitude with energy and enthusiasm\nStrong collaboration skills\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nUK driving license and ability to travel.\nDesirable:\nPrevious experience of certifying materials for use in aerospace, including special process verification.\nAre you
