They are design constraints from day one.\nWe are looking for software engineers who want to work close to the core of the platform: backend services, event-driven systems, databases, and performance-critical product flows.\nWhat You’ll Work With\nYou will work with technologies such as:\nJava\nSpring Boot\nKafka\nPostgreSQL\nDocker\nYou do not need to be an expert in every technology from day one, but you should have strong backend engineering fundamentals and a serious interest in building reliable distributed systems using this type of stack.\nWhat You’ll Do\nBuild backend services and platform components using Java and Spring Boot\nDesign and implement APIs, data models, internal tools, and product-facing systems\nWork with Kafka-based event-driven architecture and high-throughput transaction flows\nBuild systems using PostgreSQL, where performance, correctness, and observability matter\nBuild services designed to run in a modern containerised environment\nContribute to technical decisions around consistency, latency, scalability, reliability, and security\nWrite clear, maintainable, well-tested code with a strong focus on robustness\nParticipate in code reviews, system design discussions, and technical trade-off decisions\n Who You Are\nYou have strong computer science fundamentals\nYou are comfortable working with backend systems and databases\nYou can reason clearly about correctness, concurrency, performance, and system design\nYou are interested in distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and production-grade engineering\nYou learn quickly and enjoy working across different parts of the stack\nYou are ambitious, self-driven, and motivated to grow in a high-performing engineering environment\nYou want to work in a small team with high standards and direct technical feedback\nWhat Will Strengthen Your Application\nExperience with Java and Spring Boot\nExperience with Kafka or other event-streaming/message-driven systems\nStrong understanding of PostgreSQL or relational database design\nExperience with Docker or containerised development workflows\nExperience building systems where performance, correctness, reliability, or security mattered\nInternship experience or a few years of software engineering experience in a technically demanding environment\nStrong academic results from a rigorous technical university or program\nPersonal, open-source, academic, or professional projects that show technical depth and ownership\nCompetitive programming, hackathons, olympiads, research, or other high-signal technical achievements\nClear communication and the ability to discuss technical trade-offs thoughtfully\n We’re building something new within Evolution\n.\nThis is not a role focused on maintaining mature systems or working inside a fixed technical setup.
