AI and Process Engineer

We are recruiting an AI & Process Engineer with a strong analytical mindset, process management expertise, and a practical understanding of AI and technology for our client, an international group with 30 years of presence in Romania.

You’ll join their growing IT team in Bucharest, working at the intersection of business processes, technology, and AI. You’ll collaborate with internal teams to understand and document processes, identify optimisation opportunities and translate business needs into practical technical solutions, helping improve existing global processes for the needs of the sub-group.

The role combines process analysis and standardisation with applied AI and technical prototyping, including the ability to understand and use Python and SQL for initial prototypes. You’ll also support the introduction of new processes and AI-assisted workflows, working with colleagues internationally and participating in workshops, particularly in Germany.

Location: One Cotroceni Park, Building B, Bucharest

Hybrid: 3 days/week in the office

Employment: Individual Employment Contract (CIM)

Travel: Regular business trips to Germany

Main Responsibilities

Process Design and Documentation

• Capture, analyze, and model business processes, for example,using BPMN 2.0

• Create and maintain process documentation, process maps, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

• Identify optimization potential in existing workflows

• Support the introduction and further development of a company-wide process framework

AI Use-Case Identification and Implementation

• Analyze processes for AI application potential, for example, automation, classification, prediction, and generative AI

• Evaluate and prioritize AI use cases based on feasibility and business value

• Accompany the implementation of AI solutions in close collaboration with IT, data, and business teams

• Ensure that AI solutions are embedded in a process-compliant and sustainable manner

Data Flows and Data Understanding

• Document and analyze data flows along the process chain

• Identify data sources, data gaps, and data quality issues as a foundation for AI initiatives

• Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to ensure a reliable data foundation

Change Management and Training

• Actively support change processes during the introduction of new processes or AI-assisted workflows

• Design and deliver training sessions and workshops for business units

• Promote a process- and data-oriented mindset across the organization

Requirements

• 3-6 years of professional experience in process management, business analysis, or a comparable field

• Proven experience in process analysis and modeling, for example using BPMN, EPC, or comparable methods

• Knowledge of documenting data flows and system landscapes

• Basic understanding of AI concepts and technologies such as machine learning, NLP, and generative AI; deep programming skills are not required, but technical understanding is expected

• Strong analytical and structured thinking

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex topics in an understandable way

• Self-driven approach and the ability to independently advance topics

• High willingness to learn in a fast-evolving technological environment

• Team-oriented mindset and genuine enjoyment of cross-functional collaboration

• English: business proficient / negotiation level

Nice to Have

• Experience with process management tools such as Signavio, Celonis, Visio, or ARIS

• Good working knowledge of German
