You'll support our drivers, manage the daily transport plan and respond quickly when things don't go as expected.\nIt's a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment, so you'll need to be organised, confident making decisions and comfortable managing both people and operational priorities.\nThe role at a glance\nLocation: Ryton – Evri PremiumSalary: £32,782 + BenefitsContract: 12-month Fixed Term ContractHours: 40 hours per weekShift: Monday – Friday, 19:00 – 03:30\nWhat you'll be doing\nWorking closely with the Transport Shift Manager and wider operation, you'll:\nBrief and debrief drivers, ensuring runs and operational instructions are clearly understood.\nCoordinate driver and vehicle activity to keep departures and deliveries running to plan.\nMonitor routes and investigate late arrivals, departures and service issues.\nEnsure drivers remain compliant with drivers' hours, Working Time and company requirements.\nMaintain accurate vehicle, trailer and transport information across our systems.\nMonitor vehicle defects, accidents and damage, ensuring issues are reported and actioned correctly.\nDownload and interpret digital tachograph information and monitor vehicle telematics.\nKeep the Transport Management System accurate and up to date as operational plans change.\nWork closely with warehouse, planning and operational teams to resolve issues and protect service.\nComplete Health & Safety activities, including yard walks and vehicle checks.\nMonitor operational KPIs, investigate performance issues and support root cause analysis.\nMotivate and support drivers, addressing day-to-day operational and performance issues.\nDeputise for the Transport Shift Manager when required.\nWhat we're looking for\nYou'll have experience working within a busy transport, logistics or traffic office environment, with a good understanding of what it takes to keep a time-critical operation moving.\nIdeally, you'll bring:\nPrevious transport or traffic office experience.\nExperience supervising or managing drivers or operational teams.\nGood knowledge of transport compliance, drivers' hours and Working Time requirements.\nExperience using transport management, telematics or tachograph systems.\nConfidence using operational data and KPIs to understand and improve performance.\nStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions when plans change.\nExcellent communication skills and confidence dealing with drivers and stakeholders.\nA positive, hands-on leadership style with the ability to maintain high standards in a busy environment.\nA Transport Manager CPC would be advantageous, although we're also happy to consider candidates willing to work towards the qualification.\nWhy join Evri Premium?\nThis is a great opportunity to take on real responsibility within a fast-moving transport operation and build your experience with one of the UK's best-known parcel businesses.\nYou'll work alongside experienced operational leaders, have a direct impact on service and performance and play an important part in keeping Evri Premium moving every night.\nIf you're an experienced transport professional who enjoys leading people, solving problems and keeping things moving, we'd love to hear from you.","description_format":"text","description_chars":3653,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Courier Services"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-01T20:42:46Z"}],"visa":[{"country":"GB","licensed_sponsor":true,"evidence":"Licensed UK visa sponsor (Senior or Specialist Worker, Skilled Worker)","filings_12m":null,"filings_prev_12m":null,"green_card_filings_12m":null,"median_offered_wage_usd":null,"route":"Global Business Mobility: Senior or Specialist Worker;
