JOB SUMMARY

Our Business Development Manager drives company growth by identifying and expanding opportunities in EMS, printed circuit boards, and other electro-mechanical products. This role focuses on acquiring new customers, as well as up-selling and cross-selling to existing clients to increase market share. This position is responsible for driving business growth throughout the Midwest region of the United States.

The ideal candidate will skillfully manage and balance a portfolio of new and existing customers, maximizing both potential and profitability. This person will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet customer needs.

Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive aggressive new business development to expand market share in the Industrial sector and adjacent markets.
  • Maintain timely, regular communication with all customer management levels to fully understand their needs, interests, and opportunities.
  • Prepare clear, effective written proposals and quotations for current and prospective customers.
  • Build trusted relationships with executive, operational, engineering, and supply chain stakeholders at prospective accounts.
  • Foster long-term customer relationships by delivering manufacturing solutions that meet their needs.
  • Analyze market and territory potential, assessing the value of existing and prospective customers.
  • Coordinate resolution of manufacturing, testing, engineering, quality, and order-related issues with customers’ key contacts and internal teams.
  • Manage all aspects of new program development, including quoting, sampling, and qualifications.
  • Represent the company at trade shows and conventions as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY & SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field required.
  • 5-7 years of progressive sales experience in the electronics industry, preferably in EMS, with a proven track record of sales success and client development.
  • Strong understanding of electronics manufacturing and experience selling to OEM accounts.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong abilities in complex B2B solution selling.
  • Proactively identify customer requirements and develop strategic, comprehensive solutions.
  • Superior analytical skills and ability to think independently and strategically.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Skilled in using Salesforce.com or similar CRM platforms and LinkedIn Navigator for managing customer relationships and sales pipelines.
  • Experience in accurate sales forecasting and pipeline management.
  • Demonstrated ability in contract negotiation and deal closure.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including engineering, supply chain, and quality assurance to deliver customer solutions.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet customers, attend trade shows, and industry events.
