With over 1,400 team members, we care for more than 100,000 people across all 50 states.\nJob Details\nThe Data Engineer maintains complex data systems while delivering improvements to existing processes and building new solutions for our Pharmacy Benefit Management clients. This position works collaboratively with peer engineers, and with business stakeholders, balancing quality work and implementing best practices against business demands. The Data Engineer will have a strong understanding of data management and data warehousing who can collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable, complex data solutions that drive analytics and business intelligence and enable better financial and clinical outcomes. We are looking for an individual who can think nimbly and is passionate about technology. They will have an exceptional understanding of functional programming as well as modern software engineering design paradigms.\nResponsibilities\nWork in an Agile development environment; actively participate in and contribute to all Scrum ceremonies.\nDesign, develop and deliver solutions per requirements and committed schedules.\nWork closely with Product Owner in evaluating current systems and making decisions on future development.\nTest, debug, and add enhancements to existing code, processes, or reports.\nMaintain existing processes, including but not limited to: VisualCron schedules, SQL/ETL procedures, and reporting\nAssist in troubleshooting pharmacy claim related issues , reports and processes.\nSupport existing .NET applications and subsequent SQL code tied to NCPDP Pharmacy Encounter data submissions. \nProduce detailed technical specifications based on requirements and design.\nMonitor and optimize database performance, including query tuning and indexing strategies\nReview new and existing processes and provide recommendations for reliable and maintainable code.\nAnalyze and research software requirements to determine feasibility of design and market requirements within time and cost constraints.\nServe as a technical expert in the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of new software or complex enhancements to existing software.\nLearn new technologies and resolve challenges involved with integrating them with our Cloud and product infrastructure.\nProactively raise problems and solutions to staff engineers and management.\nCommunicate and propose solutions to updates, changes, and risks to stakeholders.\nShare knowledge to help develop and advance the team through mentorship.\nKeep abreast of emerging trends and best practices in database development and related technologies\nThe above essential functions are representative of major duties of positions in this job classification. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nEducation:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study, or 4+ years of related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required.\nMaster’s degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study preferred.\nExperience\nProficient in database design, normalization, and data modeling\nStrong ability with dimensional data modeling and OLAP principles.\n10+ years of SQL database development, working with the full Microsoft SQL Server toolset (SSIS, SSRS, SSMS, SSAS, RDBMS).\n5+ years’ experience with Data Warehouse methodologies.\nExpertise in query tuning, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.\nFamiliarity with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., Azure SQL Database, AWS RDS).\nAdvanced SQL skills, including data modeling, DBO creation, management, and indexing.\nExperience implementing high availability, high throughput, scalable systems.\nExpertise in identifying and diagnosing application and database related issues, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions.\nStrong ability with dimensional data modeling and OLAP principles.\nExperience with PowerShell, Python\nExperience using provided tools (AWS, GitLab, Visual Studio).\nExperience with agile methodology (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, etc.) preferred.\nFamiliarity with .NET, C#, JSON, XML, VisualCron, PowerBI\nFamiliarity with reporting and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).\nKnowledge of non-relational databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).\nSkills & Abilities\nExperience in healthcare technology, online pharmacy claims adjudication preferred.\nKnowledge of pharmacy industry standards such as NCPDP, HL7, ANSI X12, and/or related drug database terminologies and classifications\nKnowledge of Medicare Part D, PDE submissions & returns, pharmacy claims and benefit management\nDemonstrated ability to be creative, flexible, and passionate about building quality solutions.\nDemonstrated ability to architect, design, develop and implement solutions around a micro-service and monolithic architectures.\nSkilled in written and verbal communication with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently as needed.\nHas initiative and follow-through on projects with minimal supervision or guidance.\nDemonstrated expertise to work in multiple technical areas or disciplines.\nInterest and ability to learn other coding languages and technologies as needed.\nPhysical/Mental Demands: This position is administrative in nature and will present physical demands requisite to a position requiring: hearing, seeing, sitting, standing, talking, and walking.
