With over 1,400 team members, we care for more than 100,000 people across all 50 states.\nJob Details\nThe Senior Software Engineer performs innovative software development, data engineering, and product support. This position works collaboratively with a Scrum team to take requirements through the development lifecycle and transform them into high quality, valuable deliverables. The Senior Engineer will harmonize and collaboratively work with other team members and stakeholders to deliver cutting-edge technologies. They will have a strong command of our key technologies and concepts including Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, SQL, Databricks, Docker, AWS, and object-oriented development.\nResponsibilities\nWork in an Agile development environment; actively participate in and contribute to all Scrum ceremonies.\nCollaborate on design, development, and delivery of software solutions per requirements and committed schedules.\nTest, debug and add enhancements to existing applications.\nContribute to code reviews.\nAnalyze and research software requirements associated to identified user stories and epics.\nResolve customer complaints with software and respond to suggestions for software modifications or enhancements.\nLearn new technologies and resolve challenges involved with integrating them with our Cloud and product infrastructure.\nProactively raise problems to senior developers and help identify solutions.\nCommunicate updates, changes, and risks to stakeholders.\nEmbody AnewHealth’s Core Values in all communications and interactions.\nOther duties as assigned.\nThe above essential functions are representative of major duties of positions in this job classification. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nEducation\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study, or 5+ years of related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required.\nExperience\nMinimum of 4+ years of software development experience with modern programming languages and concepts.\nDemonstrated experience delivering customer value at a rapid pace, while maintaining a high level of software quality.\nExperience with modern programming languages and object-oriented development concepts, including Python, Java, and JavaScript or TypeScript.\nExperience with Databricks and modern data engineering platforms, including data ingestion, transformation, integration, processing, and support of data pipelines across multiple data sources and systems.\nStrong SQL and relational database experience, including MySQL, query optimization, performance tuning, and execution-plan analysis.\nExperience developing software applications and services that integrate with data platforms, APIs, databases, and other enterprise systems, including React or other modern web application frameworks.\nExperience developing and operating cloud-based solutions, with strong AWS experience across application development, data engineering, storage, compute, security, monitoring, and deployment; Azure experience is a plus.\nExperience with Docker, containerized application development, and modern source control, CI/CD, and software delivery practices.\nExperience working within and enhancing large, mature production codebases, including troubleshooting issues across applications, data pipelines, integrations, databases, and infrastructure.\nExperience translating business and functional requirements into technical designs and actionable engineering work.\nExperience with instrumentation, monitoring, analytics, and performance measurement.\nExperience with authentication, authorization, secure application development, and software handling sensitive or regulated data; healthcare and HIPAA experience is a plus.\nExperience with Medicare risk adjustment, CMS data, or related healthcare payment models is a plus.\nExperience with agile methodology is a plus (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, etc.) preferred.\nSkills & Abilities\nProficiency with common development tools (e.g., Git, Jira, etc.) and processes (e.g., code review, QA, continuous integration, and deployments).\nAbility to take ownership for deliverables and assigned tasks from requirements through implementation, testing, and deployment.\nAbility to understand technical requirements, contribute to application, data, and system design decisions, and translate requirements into implementation approaches and discrete engineering work.\nAbility to work across applications, data pipelines, integrations, databases, and cloud infrastructure as part of a larger solution.\nAbility to evaluate technical approaches, identify dependencies and risks, and communicate tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nAwareness, execution, and improvement of relevant team standards and engineering best practices.\nDemonstrated ability to be creative, flexible, and passionate about building scalable, maintainable, and high-quality software.\nStrong troubleshooting and analytical skills across application and data-engineering environments.\nSkilled in written and verbal communication with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with engineers, product owners, architects, and business stakeholders, and independently as needed.\nSchedule: This is a full-time position with an expectation to work an average of 40 hours per week and be available outside of normal business hours to meet customer expectations on an ad-hoc basis.
