As we double down on our growth in Germany and across Europe, we are building a commercial team that thrives on curiosity, grit, and action.\nOverview (Role Purpose)\nWe are looking for an experienced Staff DevOps Engineer / Team Lead that can lead the DevOps team in supporting our development teams. You'll thrive in this role if you love both leading other engineers to deliver valuable systems and getting hands on with design and implementation. You will be responsible for maintaining our Linux-based build and test infrastructure, which runs thousands of tests every hour supporting our development teams. You will drive the design, development, and migration to a modern CICD pipeline with automated quality gates, working closely with development, testing, and IT teams to understand requirements and develop efficient solutions.\nResponsibilities\nLead DevOps team, mentoring and growing senior DevOps engineers, as together you accomplish the following:\nCollaborate with development, quality engineering, and IT teams to design, implement, and maintain a scalable, secure, and high-availability Linux-based build and test infrastructure\nWork with development and testing teams to maintain and improve the test orchestration and scheduling tool chain\nProactively optimize system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise to ensure smooth operations\nHandle system updates, upgrades, and patch management to keep the environment secure and up to date\nSet up monitoring tools to track system performance, application metrics, and infrastructure health\nUtilize configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt) to automate provisioning and installations\nCreate and maintain comprehensive documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides\nRequired Qualifications\nExcellent communication and collaboration abilities. This role needs to align priorities with development teams and IT department, and this requires active stakeholder engagement.\nBachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience\n10+ years of professional experience as a DevOps Engineer\n2+ years managing other engineers and high impact projects\nStrong proficiency in Linux system administration and shell scripting\nStrong proficiency in Python development\nProficient in configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt)\nHands-on experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Nomad)\nExperience with monitoring and alerting tools\nStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills\nExperience with C++ is a plus\nExperience with workload manager software (Nomad, Slurm, etc.) is a plus\nExperience with cloud technology is a plus (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)\nExperience with OpenStack is a plus\nFluent in English\nPreferred Qualifications (if applicable)\nFamiliarity with Exasol or other analytics databases\nExperience with OpenStack or workload managers (Nomad, Slurm)\n A Day in the Life\nYour day may begin by reviewing the performance of the Linux-based build and test infrastructure and ensuring CI/CD pipelines are running smoothly.
