Together, we work to expand access to reliable energy for communities around the world.\nJOB SUMMARY: The Sr. Engineer, Power Generation is responsible for the technical design and engineering oversight of power generation assets utilizing reciprocating internal combustion engines and gas turbine power plants, operating on natural gas, and diesel fuels. This position requires the candidate to utilize their experience to manage the technical design of power generation systems for small and large power applications.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include but are not limited to the following activities:\nEngineering Leadership & Asset Support\nLead technical design of small and large power applications.\n\nServe as the technical authority for reciprocating engine and gas turbine power systems, electrical substations, including auxiliaries and balance-of-plant systems.\n\nProvide engineering support to operating plants including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and forced outage investigations.\n\nPerform electrical load and power consumption calculations for IPP, resorts, industrial plants, and small-scale applications, including combined heat and power (CHP) and combined cooling, heat, and power (CCHP) systems.\n\nDevelop demand profiles and peak load estimates to support electrical and thermal system sizing, utility coordination, and capital planning.\n\nConduct technical due diligence of existing power plants, gas turbines, and reciprocating engines, including review of operating history, performance data, maintenance records, reliability metrics, and remaining life considerations.\n\nReview and approve engineering deliverables, calculations, and vendor documentation.\n\nCoordinate with Operations, Maintenance, HSSEQ, Commercial, and Project teams.\n\nServe as technical interface with utilities, regulators, and partners.\n\nParticipate in investigations into major equipment failures or forced outages.\n\nDrive continuous improvement and lessons learned.\n\nDesign, Projects & Modifications\nLead feasibility studies, CAPEX/OPEX estimation, FEED, and detailed engineering for new plants and expansions.\n\nPrepare technical scoping documents for RFP.\n\nProvide technical input to procurement, bid evaluations, and contract scopes.\n\nLead or support capital projects, retrofits, uprates, fuel conversions, and life-extension programs.\n\nInterface with EPC contractors and OEMs through design, construction, commissioning, and testing.\n\nFuel Systems & Combustion\nProvide engineering oversight for natural gas, and diesel fuel systems including storage, vaporization, conditioning, and safety systems.\n\nSupport dual-fuel and tri-fuel engine configurations and fuel changeover logic.\n\nEvaluate fuel quality impacts on performance, emissions, and maintenance.\n\nSupport NG vaporization systems and combustion tuning activities.\n\nPerformance, Reliability & Optimization\nSupport the development of KPIs for efficiency, availability, reliability, heat rate, and emissions.\n\nSupport the development of reliability-centered maintenance strategies.\n\nSupport condition monitoring programs and performance trending.\n\nIdentify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost reduction.\n\nCompliance, Safety & Risk\nEnsure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.\n\nSupport HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, and other safety reviews.\n\nProvide engineering input to environmental permitting and grid interconnection.\n\nPromote safety-by-design principles.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering (required); Professional Engineer preferred.\n\nMinimum 10+ years of experience in power generation engineering.\n\nDirect experience with reciprocating engines and/or gas turbine power plants.\n\nExperience with LNG and diesel-fueled power plants, including dual-fuel operation preferred.\n\nExperience supporting operating assets and executing capital projects and fuel conversions.\n\nIntimate knowledge with major OEMs (e.g., Wärtsilä, MAN, Caterpillar, GE, Siemens, Solar, Mitsubishi, Jenbacher) preferred.\n\nStrong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.\n\nWillingness to travel domestically and internationally as required. Approx. 10-20%.\n\nWORK ENVIRONMENT:\nPrimarily office-based with periodic travel to operating power plants and construction sites.
