Operating since 1984, this site specializes in the design, development, manufacturing and marketing of a broad portfolio of innovative LED and Lamp technology. The Toronto facility serves a variety of markets such as electronics, optoelectronics, digital printing, general assembly, coatings, and medical device manufacturing, as well as endoscopy, bioscience research, microscopy and instrumentation.\nThe Mississauga facility is an FDA registered Contract Medical Device Manufacturer.\nWe are currently seeking a Supply Chain Manager who will be responsible for the planning, execution, purchasing and procurement strategies for new product introductions (NPI), current, forecasted manufacturing requirements and special customer requirements across the organization. Under the direction of the Supply Chain Manager, his/her team will identify suppliers, obtain quotations, negotiate the purchase of materials, equipment or supplies, and manage supplier contracts.\nMain Responsibilities:\nThe Supply Chain Manager (SCM) will specialize in effective demand planning, negotiating with suppliers and personnel management at all levels of the organization\nThe SCM will lead complex or critical purchases alongside his/her team\nAs leader of the purchasing group, he/she must provide technical/business leadership and guidance in all responsible areas to ensure practices are in keeping with the needs of the Company’s business opportunities\nThe SCM will work closely with the Quality Assurance Manager to ensure all procedures between the functions are aligned, including updating of the Approved Supplier List (ASL) and addressing and closing supplier non-conformances, etc.\nThe SCM will manage all warehouse activities such as, inventory accuracy, inbound and outbound freight, freight carrier contract negotiations and all legislative customs and traffic registration requirements. In addition, the SCM will also lead the Planning organization.\nThe SCM will lead and support all (Safety, Quality Holds, Supplier Delivery, Cost and People) SQDCP as it relates to the function. This includes achieving and exceeding annual objectives in the areas of cost reductions, supplier OTD\nSupervise:\nInterview, hire and manage other professionals in supply management, including logistics and planning\nDevelop purchasing policies and establish guidelines for material supply. This includes determining economic order quantities; blanket order duration and establishing safety stock were required. Review LT’s for any required updates as necessary.\nMust ensure all practices are in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures, as well as applicable Quality Standard.\nResponsible for mentoring, skills training and maintaining a culture of learning within the team\nOversee product returns of all components used in the manufacture of products produced and sold by the company\nStrategic:\nProvide forecast data with key supplier partners to ensure Excelitas’ manufacturing requirements have visibility within the suppliers’ organization\nLook for opportunities across the enterprise to outsource/insource or sub-contract functions/activities to drive value out of the supply chain and leverage existing supplier relationships\nDevelop a secure network of global suppliers\nRight size and reduce suppliers to effectively manage the supply chain while holding poor performing suppliers accountable\nBest of best commercial terms including ensuring minimum of N60 day pay terms for all new suppliers on-boarded\nTeam with Global Corporate Supply Chain function for escalations and strategy alignment to protect and enhance site objectives\nProduct Development:\nProvide a consulting role in new products introduction by providing to the project team input on material cost, availability and suitability for intended purposes\nFinancial Responsibilities:\nFinancial metrics; contribute to sourcing strategies and relationship management to reduce direct materials portion of cost of goods sold\nIncrease inventory turns\nMonitor monthly purchase price variance (PPV) from standard cost and re-evaluate with Operations Controller\nCollaborate with marketing, sales and manufacturing planning to drive world class inventory performance\nConducting quarterly excess and obsolescence material review.\nOther duties as assigned.\nRequirements:\n7+ years’ experience in a technical purchasing environment with people management experience\nBachelor’s degree or diploma in business management or related field; MBA preferred\nComputer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products\nMust have working technical knowledge of goods and services purchased\nMust be a natural multi-tasker and able to manage multiple priorities\nExperience working in an ISO9001, 14001, 13485 certified, and/or FDA QSR compliant environment is an asset\nExcellent communicator with professional business acumen.\nCan demonstrate successful large project initiatives and relatable wins\nA self-starter and creative problem-solver\nSound decision maker that can analytically or methodically present rationale\nDemonstrates deep understanding of business process integrations and relationships and has proven track record on leading such relationships\nStrong business process knowledge on Forecasting and Planning processes\nStrong experience with Contract Manufacturing relationships in machining and electronics assembly\nPrevious experience with onboarding a large work statement from other sites (preferred)\nEnrollment in an accredited purchasing program with an institution such as PMAC or ISM.\nStrong organizational and leadership skills as well as proven abilities to excel in a dynamic and growing environment.\nAbility to work with a diverse workforce in a team environment.\nExperience working in an ISO9001, 14001, 13485 certified, and/or FDA QSR compliant environment is an asset\nEqual Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer\nMinorities/Females/Disability/Gender Identity/Sexual Orientation\nExcelitas is seeking leaders and innovators to join our global team!
