Our unique technology enables the highest system performance in the most compact and cost-effective formats in a variety of applications.\nThis site's Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) products are laser-based imaging tools that have transformed ophthalmic care and made notable impacts on patients in cardiology, dermatology, oncology, gastroenterology, and other medical specialties.\nWe are currently looking for Assembly Technicians, who will work out of our Billerica, MA Manufacturing Center. These positions are second shift positions - 5 days a week. The position assists manufacturing to meet its continuous improvement goals such product cost reduction, improvement of overall product quality, reduction of product cycle times and process validations. The individual(s) in this position will work with Manufacturing/Process engineers. Performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies and final assemblies. Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process.\nShifts and Schedule:\n 2nd Shift Openings: Monday - Friday 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM (8hr Shifts); 10% shift differential \nMain responsibilities:\nMust be able to understand and communicate work instructions, updates, and issues in English with team members and engineers\nAssembling/Packaging products\nFilling out paperwork for related assemblies and production activity\nCommunicating discrepancies or potential issues as needed\nAs necessary, performs other duties as required\nStrong understanding of measuring devices, prints and quality control documents, specifications and requirements.\nStrong operation of mechanical, electrical and optical tools and equipment for quality inspection.\nMay assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process. Works with engineers in conducting experiments.\nEnsures high quality standards associated with assembly production to manufacture superior medical product assemblies.\nUses programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments or equipment.\nPerform operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment, or manufacturing process - basic trouble-shooting. Assist in the design, construction, test and check-out of test equipment.\nStrong understanding of reports, procedures - keeps excellent records and documentation of activities.\nRequirements:\nHigh School diploma or equivalent\n0-5+ years' experience in a related field is required\nAbility to perform basic mathematical calculations\nMicroscope Experience\nAbility to follow GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practice) using Standard Operating Procedures\nMaintains records and clean room environment to comply with regulatory requirements\nUse various measurement devices to record data and produce assemblies to written specifications\nManual dexterity, eye hand coordination, and visual acuity\nAbility to read, write and understand English\nAbility to perform repetitive work while paying attention to detail\nMaintain product traceability and identification\nIdentify and segregate Non-Conforming Product\nAbility to train other/new associates\nEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers\nAble to work closely with other people.\nSoldering Skills: Can perform basic soldering jobs. \nDetail oriented.\nHardware Knowledge: Knows how to use DVM, temp meter.
