At Excelitas Technologies you are how we EXCEL.\nWe are currently seeking a Development Assembly Engineer who will drive account retention through superior customer responsiveness and attention to detail. They will perform order management in a complex, fast-paced, and diverse environment. This Representative will also provide support to external customers and facilitate internal communications related to order fulfilment and customer requirements.\nMain responsibilities:\nServes as a technical subject matter expert for optical assembly processes.\nDevelops tools and processes to enable the manufacture of new products.\nConducts analyses to assess and validate assembly processes and tool designs.\nCreates and improves documentation for the manufacture of optical assemblies\nTrains technicians on the use of tools and processes for new assemblies.\nSupports troubleshooting of existing assembly tools and processes.\nMonitors and drives improvement of production assembly processes using SPC.\nSupports procurement and quality with supplier evaluation and selection\nOther duties as assigned\nRequirements:\nBachelor’s degree in Optical Engineering or related field (Physics, Mechanical Engineering, etc.). Advanced\ndegree desirable.\n5+ years experience in optics-related field desirable. Coursework and enthusiasm will be considered in lieu of experience\nOptical metrology experience or interest highly desirable\nProficiency with SolidWorks or other CAD software desirable.\nExperience with adhesive selection and troubleshooting desirable\nProficiency with optical modeling software such as Zemax, Code V, FRED desirable.\nExperience with optical alignment and bonding desirable.\nExperience with automation programming (PC and/or PLC) desirable.\nExperience with structured problem-solving tools (8D, DMAIC, etc) desirable.\nProficiency with SPC desirable.\nBenefits start day 1: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Holiday Pay, PAID Maternity/Paternity leave, Tuition Reimbursement, Long-term and Short-term disability.\nPay range: $111,000 - $140,000 annually, depending on experience.\nOur facility in Boulder, Colorado, has key functions in Research and Development, Operations, Production, and other disciplines. This facility specialises in the manufacturing of ultra-precision optical components, optical thin film coatings and optical sub-assemblies for demanding applications in lasers, materials processing,
